Hearing Hannah’s words, he instinctively wanted to argue but found himself at a loss for a rebuttal.

Hannah lowered her voice, reminding him quietly, “Until you find something out, don’t say anything to me. There’s no need for us to waste time like this, understand? If you don’t answer, I’ll take that as a yes.”

Hannah hung up immediately after saying her piece.

Before Lionel could even react, he heard the dial tone. He was left in a daze, unsure of what Hannah really meant.

Why did she want him to investigate Quennel? Hannah trusted Quennel so much, why would she ask him to investigate him at a time like this?

Could it be that Quennel had done something now that their court date was approaching, trying to sabotage things?

But once he and Hannah went to court, the obvious outcome was divorce.

All Quennel had to do was wait quietly for the verdict. There was no need for him to do anything else.
