Ellie, sitting in the back of the car, rolled down the window for a better view. Kaiden noticed a hint of envy in her eyes as she observed the happy couples.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, a bit confused.
Kaiden returned her question with his own. “What’s wrong with you?” he inquired.
Ellie shifted her gaze away from the students, leaned back in her seat, and closed her eyes. “I really envy them for having such a carefree college life,” she murmured.
