“Mrs. Thorpe, did the contract signing go smoothly?” Bruce inquired as he led the way.
“Yes, thank you. The timing was perfect,” Ellie responded, suspecting the encounter with Demi wasn’t mere coincidence. She savored the opportunity to have the last laugh over Demi’s misfortune.
Bruce, acting on Kaiden’s orders, hadn’t anticipated this outcome. But he was instructed not to disclose Kaiden’s involvement to Ellie.
