Chapter 820
The feeling of sickness washed away her drowsiness instantly.
It was at that moment that she remembered she was pregnant.
Ellie stood up straight and couldn’t resist going to look in the mirror. She lifted her nightgown and gazed at her still-flat stomach for a long while.
She was so lost in thought that she didn’t notice Kaiden until he suddenly appeared behind her.
She let out a scream and nearly lost her balance, but he quickly caught her by the waist, pulling her into a safe embrace.
“Why didn’t you make any sound? You almost gave me a heart attack!” she complained.
Kaiden was speechless.
She hadn’t been aware of him until he just appeared like that.
However, with the thought of her being pregnant, Kaiden found himself becoming more and more patient with her, regardless of her reactions.
“What are you thinking about?” Kaiden inquired.
After stepping away from him, Ellie lifted her gown, gazed down at her belly, and softly touched it.
“Kaiden, isn’t it wonderful that there’s a new life…”
Before she could finish speaking, Ellie caught a glimpse of him staring at her with eyes as deep and mysterious as an endless abyss.
His gaze was dark, hinting at danger, swirling with unspoken feelings.
“Keep your wild thoughts in check.” Ellie glared at him.
His mind raced with the desire to have intimate moments with her so early in the day, huh?
Kaiden’s gaze traveled from her fair feet, up her legs, to her curved buttocks. She was dressed in black briefs today, which looked quite tempting. To add to that, she took the initiative to lift up her nightgown…
It was like an invitation.
Kaiden was aware she hadn’t intended it that way.
But that didn’t stop his mind from wandering.
“Honey, don’t seduce me.”
Kaiden straightened her nightgown.
Ellie could feel his hands deliberately grazing her skin, as though he relished the touch.
After the events of the previous night, Ellie was cautious not to provoke him further.
She inquired, “Why didn’t you head to work today? It’s not Saturday, you know.”
“I’ve scheduled a doctor’s visit for us. We’ll head to the hospital after we eat.”
Kaiden, filled with concern, decided Ellie needed a thorough health check-up.
Though it seemed unnecessary, it wouldn’t harm her, so Ellie agreed with a nod.
