Chapter 743
It took her a moment to recollect—Joselyn Thorpe was the second daughter of the Thorpe family, who had married and moved overseas, never to return. She was Kaiden’s half-sister, sharing the same father!
Clang!
Crash!
Talon and Erick were the only ones left in the meeting room.
Talon had swept everything off the desk, sending them smashing to the floor. “Jorge had actually planned everything up to this point! He’s been planning to support Kaiden all the way!”
“Take it easy, Dad. There’s still room for us to make adjustments and maneuver this situation.” Erick somehow displayed a side of composure at this moment.
Talon turned to peer at his good-for-nothing son.
“Grandpa might be the chairman, but we still have the board of directors,” Erick’s eyes glinted with malice. “If those geezers find out that Kaiden is a madman who killed his own brother, they would definitely oppose him being the president of Thorpe Group.”
No one in their right mind would agree to such a thing, and when the board of directors and the shareholders all refused, even Kaiden’s own GT Group would be affected.
Talon’s face instantly brightened. He let out a bark of laughter, saying, “Yes! I can’t believe I forgot about that!”
Meanwhile, Ellie didn’t ask much about the Thorpe family’s affairs and went about her teaching job in peace.
Two days later, Ellie found herself counting her fingers. “Mr. Thorpe, you haven’t gone to work for all of four days now.”
Kaiden’s eyes shifted from his laptop to her face. He said nothing, but his expression told her something along the lines of, “I am the boss. I can skip going to work as much as I want.”
“Mr. Thorpe,” Ellie sighed helplessly. “If you show up anywhere near my classroom again, you’re going to cause a stampede on campus. Seriously. If you come here one more time, the headmaster is definitely going to have a stern word with me.”
Somehow, the students of the School of Economics and Management had learned that the president of GT Group was taking Ellie to class every single time. This caused a crowd.
To gather outside the department building during class periods, which, in turn, disrupted the lectures.
Students from other colleges falsely assumed that a celebrity had come to visit, and they joined in on the throng as well, along with other bored students idling by. As it was, the hallways were always congested with people who had no business being there.
Kaiden beckoned at Ellie with a wave of his hand.
She shot him a suspicious look and hesitated for a few seconds before walking over. She was still a couple of steps away when he suddenly reached out and yanked her into his arms.
Caught off guard, Ellie promptly fell onto his lap. Kaiden immediately tightened his embrace around her.
