Chapter 965
Kaiden smiled.
He kissed the edges of her lovely, clear eyes and murmured, “It’s not that I noticed it.”
Ellie was confused.
His hand landed on her breasts. He gauged their size through touch. They felt distinct.
“I know my wife’s bust size.”
“Kaiden, it’s daytime. Watch what you’re doing!” Ellie promptly removed his hand from her chest.
Kaiden smiled. “We’ve done more daring things in broad daylight. Don’t be shy, sweetheart.”
Ellie hadn’t made up an excuse about having things to attend to; she genuinely had an order to fulfill. Since she could complete her work from anywhere, Kaiden had brought her to his office.
He felt relaxed having her work right under his nose. So, that afternoon, when the senior executives of GT Group came to brief Kaiden on their work, they were taken aback to see a beanbag in Kaiden’s typically serious and orderly office. A woman was seated there. She had her head bowed and was sketching.
When Ellie noticed someone had entered, she politely nodded. “Hello, Mrs. Thorpe!”
Most of the senior executives had encountered Ellie before, unaware that she was the CEO’s wife until news of Kaiden’s marriage had become public. Since then, they had addressed her as Mrs. Thorpe.
Without interrupting their tasks, Ellie quietly sketched her own design. Soon, word spread throughout GT Group that Kaiden’s wife was sketching in his office.
Consequently, more senior executives visited Kaiden that afternoon.
“Did you all deliberately choose to report to me today?” Kaiden asked the marketing manager with an inscrutable expression after signing the document.
The manager grinned awkwardly. Honestly, he was just curious about Kaiden’s wife’s presence. Gossiping was simply human nature.
“Go on, get out of here!” Kaiden waved him away dismissively. “Don’t bother me with unnecessary reports today.”
The marketing manager quickly caught on and nodded with a smile. “I’ll inform them right away!”
As soon as the manager left the office, he promptly messaged the executives’ private chat group.
“Mr. Thorpe says not to disturb him when he’s with his wife! Got it?”
“Kaiden, I didn’t expect to find you slacking off at work, even in your office,” Ellie smiled. She observed him with a look similar to a teacher playfully teasing a student who had momentarily slackened. Kaiden waved to Ellie.
She set aside the drawing board. Approaching him, she felt his hand grab her wrist and pull her close into his arms.
Kaiden cradled her in his arms, instinctively shielding her swollen belly. He kissed her soft cheek and occasionally toyed with her fingers.
“You look stunning. I need to watch out for them,” he remarked.
Ellie rolled her eyes at him. She certainly didn’t buy his nonsense!
“Let me go. I’ve got work to do,” Ellie said as she attempted to extricate herself from his grasp. Her expression seemed to say, “Not everyone slacks off like you.”
