Carole couldn’t walk fast in high heels, so by the time she came out of the office, she only saw Kaiden’s retreating figure as he entered the elevator.

The only thing she could do was stand there, feeling depressed and sad.

“Miss Lambert, do you need me to get someone to take you home?” Bruce offered.

“No, thanks. I drove here by myself. I can take myself… Wait!” A thought suddenly entered Carole’s mind. Without thinking twice, she quickly asked him, “Bruce, I heard you say… Mrs. Thorpe, right?” She was sure that she had heard those words, but she just needed to be sure. Part of her couldn’t accept the implication behind those words.

“Miss Lambert, it’s better for you to ask Mr. Thorpe about it personally,” Bruce suggested.

If Zoey had been in the office right now, she would have noticed that something was wrong. Bruce was a very cautious person. She was desperate. She didn’t want to be expelled from school at all!

“But right now, there’s nothing I can do,” Ellie said impatiently and hung up.

But immediately, her mind went to Cecelia.

Last time, Cecelia had almost succeeded in making Ellie promise to fulfill her birthday wish.

Not wanting to be troubled by her conscience, Ellie began to think of a suitable explanation for Cecelia.

But not long after that, Ellie received a call from her supervisor.

“Ellie, Demi is making a scene in the dean’s office. I reported it to the Gordon family, but they referred me to you, saying you would take care of the issue.
