Chapter 675
Kaiden excused himself from Katharine, who was deep in conversation, and approached Ellie. “Ellie, what’s going on?”
“It seems like Baylee had an accident.”
Ellie’s face turned pale with worry, her hands trembling.
How could Baylee get into an accident on the island? How was this possible?
The previously cheerful atmosphere vanished instantly. All eyes turned to Ellie, filled with concern and confusion.
Carole’s eyes, however, showed no interest in the situation.
Ten minutes passed.
The seawater splashed onto the southern reefs, creating waves that were one meter tall.
Someone wearing blue clothes was lying motionless at the edge of a large reef, her lower body in the seawater.
Ellie’s heart suddenly raced, and she ran, her fear propelling her forward.
She was so nervous that she almost lost her balance on the reef, but thankfully, Kaiden came to her rescue just in time.
Kaiden didn’t scold her for being careless, nor did he tell her to take it easy. He understood how important Baylee was to Ellie.
Baylee’s face was pale, her lips had turned purple, and her breath was weak. The rising seawater soaked her clothes and hair, giving her a disheveled appearance.
“Baylee…” Ellie’s voice shook as she embraced Baylee, trying to help her up.
The doctor who was with them quickly intervened. “Miss Gordon, Miss Curtis has been bitten by a snake. It’s best if you don’t touch her!”
When people remain still, their metabolism and blood circulation slow down, which helps control the spread of toxins to some extent.
That’s when Ellie noticed the bite marks on Baylee’s calves and feet. Dark purple blood flowed down from the wounds.
“Oh my God! How come there are snakes here?”
“Snakes?”
Everyone who had come along was startled and began to look at their surroundings anxiously.
Garfield hurriedly led the island’s security guards on a search and discovered that the snakes had escaped.
“How do we detoxify?” Ellie quickly calmed down and asked.
“She needs some serum.” The doctor gave an emergency treatment to the wounds of the unconscious Baylee. “But Miss Curtis is not in a good condition to take a yacht. The yacht is too bumpy for her…”
“I will get someone to bring serum to the island,” Katharine responded immediately.
The doctor frowned and explained, “It’s difficult for the island hospital to figure out which kind of snake venom Miss Curtis was bitten by. I’m worried we won’t have time to get the serum over to the island. If only we had access to a plane!”
