Chapter 293
Chapter 293:
“Try going to bed at three in the morning and waking up at seven!” Ellie shot back.
Kaiden raised an eyebrow in response.
It was only then that Ellie realized Kaiden indeed slept later than her because he had bathed her first. He also woke up at six in the morning for a run before returning to shower and change.
“You are truly exceptional for not needing to sleep, but I am not like you!” Ellie couldn’t help but complain as she grabbed a beige turtleneck sweater and a skirt that reached mid- length skirt from her wardrobe. She completed the look with a soft cashmere jacket.
“Sleep?” Kaiden’s mouth curled into a sly smile as he asked, “Is that a noun or a verb p>
She couldn’t believe he was talking dirty so early in the morning.
Ellie’s anger intensified. “I should really let everyone outside see just how audacious Mr. Thorpe from the GT Group can be p>
Critport University’s anniversary celebration was truly magnificent. Distinguished alumni, now presidents of companies and renowned figures in the industry, returned to their alma mater. Additionally, high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Education were in attendance.
Ellie occupied a front-row seat while others gradually filled the seats around her. However, the central seat in the first row remained noticeably unoccupied. This particular seat was intentionally kept empty in recognition of a generous patron who had made a substantial donation to support the renovation of the technology building and library.
Not long after Ellie took her seat, she suddenly spotted a familiar figure in the audience.
It was Erick.
He wasn’t a student at Critport University, so why was he present?
At half-past nine, the ceremony began on time.

On stage, two male and two female hosts emerged, delivering their opening remarks. They expressed their admiration for the entire institution and extended their gratitude to the honored guests. Ellie furrowed her brow and directed her gaze towards one of the female hosts on the stage.
It was Demi.
Demi had just started her freshman year at Critport University, and she wasn’t even studying broadcasting. So, how had she ended up as one of the hosts?
Unless someone orchestrated Demi being in this role.
Demi quickly spotted Ellie in the audience and flashed a meaningful smile.
Erick had entered the event with an invitation from Demi’s family. Demi had informed Erick that Ellie was representing the alumni. To Demi’s surprise, Erick responded disdainfully, “She doesn’t deserve it.” Demi had been anxious that Erick might rekindle his feelings for Ellie, but now she realized that Ellie had already provoked Erick.
Ellie would not have a good day today.
Ellie was the final graduate to address the gathering.
