Chapter 334:
Howard couldn’t help but smile too. “Really p>
Ellie’s confirmation validated the accuracy of the information he had gathered about her preferences.
As Ellie returned to her seat, she noticed Kaiden’s displeased expression.
Placing some of the dishes before Kaiden, Ellie suggested, “These are the canteen’s specialties. Give them a try p>
Kaiden glanced at the so-called specialties.
Howard keenly noticed the disdain reflected in Kaiden’s eyes and remarked, “Mr. Thorpe, you typically dine at home. I assume the canteen fare doesn’t appeal to you p>
Kaiden pursed his lips, choosing silence. His expression practically said, “It’s none of your business p>
Howard had to refrain from further comments as Ellie was present. In his role as the student union president, representing both the school and the students, he had to exercise discretion. Meanwhile, Kaiden, the school sponsor and distinguished guest, warranted another level of respect.
“Ellie, I heard you’re not fond of onions. Let me help you pick them out,” Howard offered, holding another fork. Swiftly, he removed the onions from the clam chowder.
As Ellie snapped back to reality, gratitude was the only sentiment she could articulate.
Meanwhile, an undeniable chill enveloped the atmosphere surrounding Kaiden.
Ellie perceived nothing amiss in Howard’s conduct, appreciating his polite use of a new fork. However, Kaiden’s emotions were impossible to overlook; his presence radiated a palpable intensity.
Sensing Kaiden’s displeasure, possibly linked to Howard picking out onions for her, Ellie promptly reached for a smoked spare rib for him. “I’ve always loved these smoked spare ribs since my school days. Give it a try,” she offered with genuine enthusiasm.
Howard observed the scene, surprised by Ellie’s actions.
Unaware of how she was indulging Kaiden, Ellie continued her well-intentioned gestures.

Kaiden, with an air of condescension, took a bite of the smoked spare rib handed to him by Ellie, his expression betraying his distaste.
Could it truly be considered a delicacy?
“Howard, is smoked spare rib a specialty?” Ellie, in her caring manner, shifted the focus to acknowledge Howard’s presence.
“Yes, indeed.” Howard couldn’t hide his displeasure as the rib he had chosen for Ellie ended up with Kaiden.
With his gaze fixed upon the clam chowder before him, Kaiden delicately nudged the bowl using his slender fingers.
Deliberately, he slid the bowl in front of Howard, saying, “If you enjoy picking out onions so much, why not extend that expertise to this dish as well p>
“Mr. Thorpe, you don’t fancy onions either?” Howard forced a smile, detecting Kaiden’s deliberate attempt to make things challenging for him.
“I like onions,” Kaiden replied nonchalantly. “But I thought I’d give you an opportunity to showcase your skills p>
About ten minutes after the bell rang, the canteen began to fill up with more students.
