Chapter 556
Chapter 556:
Yet, he found it hard to watch her get upset.
He didn’t wish for her to be overly concerned about him. He didn’t want her to be burdened with sadness. So, he decided to keep those terrible memories to himself.
“Ellie, I don’t want you to comfort me by telling you this,” Kaiden said softly, holding her face gently and meeting her gaze. “Just because Cecelia showed you kindness once doesn’t mean you should overlook her wrongs. It’s okay to put yourself first sometimes. Being overly moralistic can sometimes be self-defeating p>
Kaiden didn’t mention the immense help Leo had given him. Despite the harsh treatment from his mother, Kaiden had grown up healthy and knowledgeable, thanks to Leo’s significant contributions.
“Alright, I understand,” Ellie replied with a nod, pulling Kaiden into another embrace.
“Very good, girl,” Kaiden said with a small smile.
Kaiden then shifted his gaze and pressed a soft kiss against her neck. It was as if the vulnerable side of Kaiden he had just revealed to console her had disappeared. He continued planting gentle kisses along her neck, finally sucking lightly on her delicate earlobe.
Suddenly, Ellie stiffened.
“Kaiden, you got a boner p>
“Well, Mr. Wright… Ellie said she’s not mad at me… She’s not blaming me!” Cecelia’s voice trembled as she stood before the man, her body shaking with fear.
Kristopher, casually playing with a bracelet on his wrist, appeared calm, yet to Cecelia, his every movement seemed so ominous.
“Haven’t you ever wondered why she isn’t blaming you but still doesn’t want to see you?” Kristopher’s voice was steady. “Cecelia, what you’ve done to her runs deep—too deep to fix p>
“Oh no! It wasn’t like that! I didn’t do it! I… I was always nice to her, and she knows it!” Cecelia protested, her panic clear.

Kristopher, with a slight shake of his head, replied, “Cecelia, you’re fooling yourself. The one who was truly kind to her was me p>
Cecelia froze, realizing the truth in his words. The kind soul she had always thought she was to Ellie had been nothing compared to the man standing before her, a man whose face she had recognized for years but knew so little about.
Kristopher, losing his patience, moved to leave.
Cecelia, her hands showing signs of age, clung desperately to the wheels of his wheelchair.
“Please! I’m begging you! Don’t cut off my medication!” she cried out, her voice breaking.
Kristopher paused, his voice calm yet chilling. “Remember, the medicine that can save your life can also end it. I’ve told you this p>
Cecelia, now desperate, threw one final threat. “If you don’t let me live comfortably, aren’t you afraid I’ll spill everything to Ellie p>
“Go ahead and try,” Kristopher smirked, his confidence unshaken. He was unafraid of her threats, secure in the plan he had laid out.
