Chapter 864
“The tragedy wasn’t something anyone wished for. We even had a settlement in place. Yet the Wright family sought revenge through you, who was just a baby back then—it was outrageous!” Glenn’s expression turned grim.
He had intended to wait for Ellie’s return so they could express their gratitude to Kristopher.
But now, his only thought was to confront the Wright family!
“Kristopher ended up suffering too.” Ellie, however, remained calm and added,
“I owe a lot to Kristopher for looking after me when I was young.” Without his protection, she doubted she would have grown up safely.
Nor would she have been able to achieve what she had.
Despite everything, Glenn was furious about the Wright family’s actions. He paced back and forth, hands on his waist, spewing out swear words in every language he knew.
Daniel and Katharine were no strangers to Glenn’s fiery temperament. Eventually, Glenn noticed Ellie watching him with a mix of shock and amusement.
Glenn paused and said, “Oh… Ellie, did you catch any of that?”
He realized he hadn’t been speaking in languages she would normally understand!
Ellie nodded in agreement.
She had heard rumors that the head of the Lambert family had a short fuse, but Glenn always came across as serious yet kind to her.
She realized it was all just a facade!
Kaiden was well aware that Glenn resorted to cursing in lesser-known languages because he figured Ellie wouldn’t catch on.
He intentionally didn’t clue Glenn in that Ellie was fluent in several languages. “I’m actually pretty calm. I just got a bit annoyed, that’s all,” Glenn explained. He then quickly added with a bit of pride, “You’re incredibly bright, being able to understand languages from Sacrapa and other small countries!”
Katharine and Daniel couldn’t help but think Glenn was quite adept at singing Ellie’s praises.
Suddenly, Ellie found Glenn somewhat endearing. She chose not to call him out on his fib and simply smiled and nodded.
