Chapter 435
Chapter 435:
There had to be a clear line between what happened in the bedroom and what happened outside of it.
“Ellie, what’s on your mind?” Kaiden playfully tapped her head and continued, “It’s my fault. I was worried about you getting sick these past two days, so I didn’t satisfy you p>
“Kaiden! Watch what you say! Don’t be so shameless p>
Gently placing her hand over Kaiden’s mouth, Ellie shot him a playful yet stern look.
In Kaiden’s eyes, Ellie resembled a kitten attempting to appear fierce. However, instead of coming across as intimidating, she only seemed incredibly adorable to him.
He smiled. “Perhaps I can demonstrate how shameless I can be when we get home p>
Ellie found herself momentarily at a loss for words.
In a cheerful mood, Kaiden decided to put an end to the playful banter, affectionately tousling Ellie’s hair, and encouraged her, saying, “Now, enjoy your meal p>
“How do you expect me to eat like this p>
Gently patting his hand, which still rested on her waist, Ellie silently conveyed her desire for him to release his grip.
“Our lips aren’t locking, so you can still eat with your mouth p>
“Um… I’m not quite accustomed to this.” How could she eat in peace sitting on his lap?
“Then get used to it,” Kaiden replied with a hint of determination in his voice.
He maintained his hold around her waist with his right hand while his left hand picked up a pen, and he started to review some documents. Although he typically disliked physical contact with others, Ellie was a unique exception.
He relished the sensation of holding her close.
Only by firmly embracing this woman did he truly feel her presence, as if this was the only way to ensure she wouldn’t be taken away by anyone else.
Seeing that her protests had no effect, Ellie gave in.
She remained seated on his lap, taking a sip of milk tea from the cup she had opened and then donned disposable gloves to begin eating the fried chicken.

Why did she have the feeling that he had become so assertive without her even noticing?
“Kaiden p>
“What is it?” he replied without looking up from the documents, his profile still displaying its usual angular and somewhat aloof demeanor.
“Do you like to make physical contact with me because you like me?” Ellie had this question in mind but hesitated to voice it.
She had noticed a change in his attitude, a growing closeness and indulgence between them.
However, he had never explicitly expressed his feelings for her, even though she had made attempts to draw those words out. In the end, Ellie decided not to push further.
She feared that asking directly might lead to a disappointing response.
“Are you free tomorrow?” Kaiden unexpectedly inquired.
“I’m planning to go to the shopping mall tomorrow morning to pick out an outfit for Grandma, and I don’t have any other plans for tomorrow,” she said. “What do you have in mind p>
“Tomorrow is Jorge’s birthday,” Kaiden revealed, producing an invitation from his drawer. It was an invitation to Jorge’s seventieth birthday celebration.
