Chapter 317
Chapter 317:
Now, he had no choice but to believe.
Kaiden’s unexpected kiss left Ellie confused.
She gave him a strange glance, fastened her seatbelt in place, and asked Kaiden, “What brings you here p>
“I just happened to be in the area.” Kaiden shifted his gaze from Howard to the view outside the window.
Today, Howard appeared quite ordinary in a white shirt and jeans, but little did anyone know, his shirt was a designer piece, and even his cufflinks were crafted from mahogany.
He had even styled his hair neatly.
Those unaware might easily guess he came here for a date.
Men understood each other best. Kaiden sneered inwardly. Even though Howard hadn’t fully matured, he had the nerve to crave his woman!
Ellie was speechless at Kaiden’s reply. Why did he keep claiming that he just so happened to be in the same place as her? As she was about to speak, her phone rang. It was Baylee.
“Ellie, where are you?” Baylee’s voice was laced with panic.
“Baylee, what happened to you p>
As Ellie heard Baylee’s anxious voice, her own anxiety spiked, and Kaiden observed her intently.
“I was out shopping today and got attacked. Marvin tried to save me, but he rolled down a slope, and now I can’t find him…” Fear quivered in Baylee’s voice.
Marvin had been recovering recently. Just yesterday, Baylee had mentioned to Ellie that he was moving on his own, and she planned to send him away. But now, an unexpected mishap had occurred.
“Don’t panic! Where are you right now?” Ellie asked urgently.

Baylee described her location near a mountain in Critport.
“I’m on my way. Stay there.” Once she ended the call, Ellie locked eyes with Kaiden.
Marvin’s whereabouts had become a mystery. Neither she nor Baylee could locate him, forcing them to seek assistance from someone else.
Ellie’s first thought was to hire a professional rescue team, but that would attract too much attention. If that had been a viable option, Baylee would have already pursued it without reaching out to her.
“Kaiden, can I trust you?” Ellie looked at Kaiden with her honest eyes.
“What do you mean?” Kaiden chuckled. Ellie reaching out to him for assistance brought an immediate smile to his face. “You can go ahead if it doesn’t involve you p>
Kaiden had exceptional senses, surpassing those of an average person.
He had already overheard their phone conversation.
Three hours later…
The flashlight cast its beam across the entire mountain, while a helicopter hovered above. The gusts from its blades were so strong that Ellie’s hair fluttered wildly.
