Chapter 370

The couple rushed into the hospital room. Seeing her daughter lying pale and unconscious in the bed, Mrs. Jasper broke down in tears, collapsing to the floor. “My daughter, how could this happen to you? My poor, unfortunate daughter! If only I hadn’t let you come back to the country, look at the suffering you’re enduring!”
Mr. Jasper helped his wife up, trying to console her. “Our daughter will be fine. Don’t be too upset. She’s been wronged, and we’ll make sure she gets justice. If you collapse from crying, how will we help our daughter?”
Hearing her husband’s words, Mrs. Jasper cried a little more softly but with determination in her eyes. “My daughter didn’t fall into the sea. She was pushed!”
Outside the hospital room were members of the Jasper Corporation and Taylor. It was Taylor who first found Stella.
Not having seen Nina for a while and knowing that Stella was following Nina, Taylor went to look for them but could not find them.
She panicked when she saw Stella struggling in the sea, then sinking. She quickly called for help and managed to pull Stella out of the water.
By the time she was rescued, Stella had stopped breathing. Taylor performed CPR, helping her expel the seawater she had swallowed. But Taylor had not seen any sign of Nina.
At this moment, all Taylor could do was stay in the hospital. After all, this was a collaboration between the York Corporation and the Jasper Corporation, and she needed to get the situation under control and keep an eye on them.
When Stella’s parents arrived, they were clueless about the situation, only stating that their daughter was the victim. “Where are the people from the York Corporation?” Mrs. Jasper demanded sternly. “My daughter deserves justice!”
The Jasper Corporation’s employees all turned to look at Taylor.
Taylor felt indignant. She had not expected Stella’s parents to jump to conclusions before investigating properly. “What justice? We haven’t even mentioned seeking justice yet! It was your Jasper Corporation that asked us to come and inspect the goods. Now that something has happened, you’re putting all the blame on us. We won’t take this responsibility!”
“Who do you think you are, talking to me like that!” Mrs. Jasper stopped crying, now fuming with anger. She pointed at Taylor and said, “With employees like you in the York Corporation, is there anything you wouldn’t do?”
Taylor shouted back, “With a mother like you, what wouldn’t your daughter do? Our Nina hasn’t been found yet, we don’t know if she’s alive or dead. If anything happens to her, you’ll be held responsible!” Mrs. Jasper was heaving with anger. “Don’t you dare accuse my daughter! My daughter has always been kind-hearted, always helping others. How could she possibly do anything wrong? She’s lying in that hospital bed, still in critical condition. But as for your person, I suspect she harmed my daughter and then fled. I’m calling the police to catch the one who hurt my daughter!”
She then turned to her husband, “Honey, where’s your phone? Call the police right away! We can’t let the culprit escape! Whoever harmed our daughter, I’ll make sure they pay!” “Call the police?”
In strides, Nash came over, his gaze chillingly cold, his tone icy, “Call the police right now. Let’s find out whether or not I’ll have your daughter locked up behind bars!” Seeing Nash approaching and speaking so boldly, the Jasper couple’s expressions turned sour.
Mr. Jasper, furious, said, “Nash, my daughter is lying unconscious in the hospital bed, and you’re spouting nonsense. At the very least, your father and I have some rapport. If you won’t show us any sympathy, fine, but don’t add fuel to the fire! She’s our only daughter, for heaven’s sake!”
Taylor, seeing how much importance they placed on Stella and how little they cared about Nina, felt tears welling up in her eyes. “Your daughter is precious, but isn’t Nina precious too? At least your daughter is still alive, but what about Nina? If it weren’t for me spotting your daughter and rescuing her out, she would’ve died! I can let your lack of gratitude slide, but to slander our Nina like this? That’s just adding insult to injury! You’re kicking us when we’re already down!”
