Chapter 413
Michelle looked at Nina, still feeling irritated, but she needed Nina’s help for this exclusive interview with Nash. Besides, only by securing Nash’s interview could she regain the face she had lost before. After Kate left, Michelle approached Nina’s workstation again, this time with a much softer tone, “Nina, about what we discussed yesterday, what are your thoughts?”
“I think I already told you yesterday,” Nina replied without looking at her.
Michelle felt like swearing, but she held back. If someone didn’t give her face here, she wouldn’t show kindness either. Nina was different. After she completed this project, Michelle vowed to teach her a lesson.
Michelle continued, “How about this, we go together. If we secure the interview with Nash, we’ll both share the credit. You don’t want to keep writing for a public account, do you? Everyone wants to climb up. I’m giving you this opportunity. Just follow me and I guarantee within a year, you’ll be in my position!”
Nina just smiled as she listened. The workplace was brutal. Words spoken by others without evidence were just jokes in the end.
Nina looked up at her, “I’ve handed this project over to you entirely. Why should I go with you for the interview? Have you thought about that?”
Michelle, running out of patience, said firmly, “Stop pretending to be noble. I clearly snatched this project away!”
She didn’t allow others to say they were given. Snatching it proved her strength.
“Think whatever you want. I’m not going to that interview. I’m not one of those two little girls who follow you around and can be easily fooled!”
Nina finished organizing her materials, then continued, “I’ve seen all sorts of things since leaving the York Corporation. Didn’t you say everything is about grabbing opportunities yourself? This time, grab it on your own and prove your strength, isn’t that better?”
Nina once again refused Michelle.
Now Michelle realized that no matter what, Nina was determined to stand against her and wouldn’t help her at all.
“Angel, come with me,” Nina said to Angel, who was typing beside her.
“Okay,” Angel put down her work.
Michelle watched as Nina ignored her, feeling infuriated once again. Since Nina arrived, Michelle felt like she couldn’t find her dignity!
“Michelle, who does this Nina think she is? Daring to defy you like this, she’s really overestimating herself,” Michelle’s follower whispered in her ear.
“Not giving you face, isn’t it making everyone in the office laugh at you? You have to show her who’s boss!” Michelle’s lackey fanned the flames.
“I won’t let her off easy!” Michelle marked this down, her eyes turning fierce. “I’ll make her obediently help out, and she’ll have to come begging to me!”
This time, Nina took the company car out. Angel, on the other hand, seemed pleased, saying, “Nina, how could you stand up to Michelle like that? Besides the chief editor, everyone here treats her with special care.”
Nina drove the car out, saying, “I didn’t stand up to her, I just spoke the truth. I don’t want to offend anyone.”
“But you’ve already offended her,” Angel said. “She’ll definitely target you in the future.”
She knew Michelle’s personality. While not everyone would try to curry favor with her, they also wouldn’t refuse her. If Michelle set her sights on someone, she wouldn’t make things easy for them!
Nina added, “No one stays on top forever. Someone like her, who’s currently in the limelight but doesn’t treat others well, making enemies everywhere. Once she falls from grace, everyone will want to kick her while she’s down.”
