Chapter 701

When the topic came up, Nelly immediately rejected it, “Forget it, dating is too much trouble.”
She had never dated before. It was just too complicated.
She had attended an all-girls school from a young age and had not had much interaction with men. Consequently, she did not even think about it.
In fact, she was somewhat averse to men.
“This pacifier is so cute,” Nina said, holding the gift they had given her. “Thank you all so much, you have been so thoughtful for the baby.”
“Don’t mention it! We’re the baby’s godmothers, after all!”
Nina smiled and said, “Then my child is really something special. One godmother is a popular star, another is a director and screenwriter, and there’s also an artist. With you all as godmothers, my child won’t have to struggle at all.”
“Having a few amazing godmothers is great, but wouldn’t having a great dad be even better?” Yvonne joked.
Nina thought for a moment and then disagreed, “We need to be careful. We can’t spoil him. If he turns out badly, I won’t rest easy even in my grave!”
At that, they all turned to look at Nina, their eyes filled with doubt and disbelief. They had not expected her to say something so ominous.
Realizing her mistake, Nina quickly corrected herself, “Just kidding! Don’t take it seriously. I’ll raise him properly, of course!”
“You scared me!” Nelly said, patting her chest. “Not only does he have a great dad, but also a great mom. Don’t forget, you’re quite famous now and your value is skyrocketing. Oh, by the way, I have good news for you. We’ve been nominated for the Golden Award!” Nina’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
“Really,” Nelly said excitedly, grabbing Nina’s hands. “Penelope might even win Best Actress! I’m so thrilled!”
“That’s wonderful!” Nina was genuinely happy for them.
Nelly continued, “You have to attend the ceremony. You’re the director and an investor. You’re the backbone of our team!”
“When is it?”
“Next month. We’ve finally made it!” Nelly hugged Nina tightly, her excitement and anticipation evident.
Yvonne was also happy for them. “Hard work pays off,” she said, looking at Nina. “Congratulations, you’re going to be a famous director.”
“Not quite,” Nina said modestly. “I just stumbled into this. It’s all thanks to Nelly.” Nina felt she was still a novice in the film industry, lacking experience and needing to learn more. But trying new things always made her take it seriously, competing with herself. As they were happily chatting, there was a noise outside.
Nash opened the door to the hospital room and walked in.
Seeing the smile on Nina’s face, his features softened. “What’s making you so happy?”
As soon as they saw Nash, they quieted down out of respect and a bit of unfamiliarity.
But Nina was delighted. She grabbed the baby items to share with him. “You came just in time. Look, these are the things they bought for the baby. Aren’t they adorable?”
Nash walked over, and they stepped aside. He picked up the baby clothes and said gently, “So tiny and cute.”
“Right? I’m really looking forward to his arrival, watching him grow from a tiny baby to an adult. It’s such a fulfilling journey. When we’re old and look back on our lives, it will be incredible,” Nina said, leaning against him, her heart filled with love for him and their child. Mentioning old age and life, Nash’s expression became serious. He wrapped his arm around Nina’s shoulders and envisioned their future. “If it’s a boy, we need to be strict, teach him to respect elders and women, and become a responsible and cultured man. If it’s a girl, we can spoil her a bit more, give her lots of love so she won’t be easily deceived by other boys.”
