Chapter 377

“Miss Jasper, let’s go,” the police officer said.
They could tell that Stella was trying to avoid responsibility for the situation. Following procedure, they could not just let it slide.
Stella still resisted, so the police had to physically escort her. Two female officers approached and lifted her from the bed. She cried out, pleading for her mother to intervene.
“Let go of my daughter, don’t touch her!” Mrs. Jasper pleaded, but another officer pulled her away.
Stella was carried out, crying and pleading to her father for help, but to no avail.
Despite Mr. Jasper’s inner conflict, the police were firm in their actions, and Nina’s steadfastness only fueled his frustration.
He turned to her, his expression cold. “Miss Nina, you truly have no intention of giving me any respect!”
Nina calmly replied, “Mr. Jasper, I understand your protective instincts, but shielding your daughter when she’s done wrong isn’t helping her. It’s harming her. She won’t learn from her mistakes or understand the consequences. Do you really think you can cover for her forever?”
She looked at Mr. Jasper, challenging him.
The police then turned to Nina. “You’re coming with us too.”
“Okay,” she replied, following them out.
Mr. Jasper’s expression turned cold with his fists clenched tightly. While he heard Nina’s words, he did not fully register them. Mainly, it was because Nina wasn’t giving him any respect, and Nash stood by without intervening, which made him lose dignity.
He looked at Nash and threatened, “Mr. York, Jasper Corporation and York Corporation have cooperated, but if my daughter doesn’t return tonight, our partnership ends. We won’t have any dealings in the future!”
Nash stopped at the door of the ward, hearing Mr. Jasper’s words. He paused, his gaze deep, his expression neither cold nor indifferent.
He glanced back at Mr. Jasper and smirked disdainfully. “Mr. Jasper, do you still see me as the thirteen-year-old Nash in your eyes?”
With that, Nash walked out without giving Mr. Jasper’s dignity a second thought. He no longer cared about the previous acquaintanceships. Jasper Corporation was just a small piece of the iceberg to him, completely insignificant.
Watching Nash’s departing figure, Mr. Jasper suddenly felt the force of Nash’s presence and involuntarily took two steps back. It was like a wake-up call for him.
Nash was no longer the same as before. He did not need to rely on others, and he could cut off all ties with Mr. Jasper with a single command. It dawned on Mr. Jasper that he had aged, forgetting that people grow and become stronger, while he was no longer as powerful as he once was.
As Mrs. Jasper’s tears streamed down her face, she hurried over to Mr. Jasper and said, “Honey, Stella has been taken away. You need to do something. You can’t let her go to jail! If Nash is so heartless, we’ll sever ties and stop cooperating with him. Let him taste the bitter consequences!”
Mr. Jasper sighed. “Do you think Nash is afraid of us showing kindness? We’re the ones who should be afraid of him. We’ve seen him struggle when he was alone and seeking help everywhere before…” “That doesn’t work on him. Do you think Nash is afraid?” Mr. Jasper was truly troubled.
Mrs. Jasper disagreed, “If he’s not afraid, are we supposed to be afraid of him? He used to be alone and impoverished, and we saw him seeking help from others wherever he went.”
