Chapter 836

The man noticed her as well. Their eyes met, and Nina found his eyes striking. It was strange, because his face was unfamiliar, yet she felt a sense of familiarity she couldn’t explain. But she quickly looked away.
The man’s eyes, however, were full of emotion.
“Is he the Scott you’re looking for?” Mr. Joker asked, noticing the exchange of glances and frowning.
From what Nina had said, Scarlett and Scott had been in the slave camp for a while, whereas this man, Ash, had just been brought in.
“No,” Nina said firmly, shaking her head. The man in front of her and Scott were clearly not the same.
Upon hearing Nina’s denial and the name “Scott,” the man’s gaze darkened.
The people in Sector A lined up, passing one by one in front of Nina, but Scott was nowhere to be seen.
“You’ve seen all six hundred people in Sector A. It’s already late. If you want to continue, come back tomorrow,” Mr. Joker reminded her.
“Alright,” Nina agreed. For now, she had no choice. This wasn’t her territory, so she had to comply with their rules.
“Let’s go back,” Mr. Joker said just as a bout of coughing erupted behind Nina. Her heart sank. That voice! Boom-
Nina felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Now she understood why the man’s eyes seemed so familiar.
She contained her excitement and continued walking with Mr. Joker. As they reached a corner, she made a sudden request.
“Mr. Joker, you must be very busy every day. Let me handle the search for the people I need to find.”
Nina’s breathing was rapid. She wasn’t sure if Mr. Joker would agree, but she had to try.
Mr. Joker thought that Nina was asking for that girl. “Mr. Micah may be protecting you, but don’t push your luck here!”
Mr. Joker frowned, warning Nina. He couldn’t understand her actions, coming here to search for people and even making unreasonable demands! He also couldn’t fathom why his boss was indulging her so much. Unexpectedly, Nina responded, “You said I could search for people myself. How is it unreasonable to avoid troubling you?”
Mr. Joker’s eyes darkened. “Fine. There are four sectors here. Sector D has the most people. You can only visit one sector each day.”
Before Nina could respond, Mr. Joker added, “The designated time is 3 p.m. every day.”
“Alright,” Nina agreed.
Mr. Joker added, “There’s someone I want to train. Since you’re looking for people, I’ll have them bring him over.”
Once Mr. Joker left, Nina realized how quickly he had agreed to her request. And it seemed that Micah was indulging her unconditionally.
This wasn’t good. She feared she might be seen as a ridiculous figure in the eyes of others because of the special treatment.
Nina kept her composure outside, but as soon as she returned to her private room, a man suddenly hugged her from behind.
“I’m so glad you’re alright.”
His husky voice whispered in her ear. Nina could feel the strength of his embrace and the warmth of his body. She quickly turned around and pushed him away. “Nash, are you insane? Coming here?”
She tried to keep her voice low, but it trembled with fear.
