Chapter 856

Nina’s gun did not faze Micah at all. With a quick move, he twisted her wrist, and the black gun clattered to the ground. Micah gripped Nina’s neck, “Nash, I know your team is here. I’ll let you leave now. If you want Nina back, bring me Wilfred.”
In this dire situation, holding her captive alone was better than keeping them all.
Nina shouted, “Nash, go!”
Nash looked deeply at Nina, his eyes filled with reluctance, frustration, and unwillingness. But the explosions continued to rock the area. Reinforcements burst in.
“Captain York, headquarters ordered us not to engage with Pharaoh,” James and Felix said as they located him.
“Nash, go!” Nina shouted again.
Reluctantly, Nash was pulled away.
Soon, the chaos subsided, leaving the place in shambles.
Micah released Nina. “Interested in learning some martial arts?”
Nina had tried to fight back when Micah grabbed her wrist. She knew basic self-defense, but with training, she could become formidable.
“I’m not interested,” Nina said coldly, turning her back on Micah. She was deeply worried about Nash. He had infiltrated this place for her and would undoubtedly search for Wilfred once he was out. She did not want to get Wilfred involved. Micah watched her leave, wanting to say more, but held back.
…
Meanwhile, Nash struggled fiercely, even attempting to fight James. Understanding the futility of it, James and Felix overpowered Nash and dragged him away. When Nash woke up, he was back at the military camp. Immediately, he tried to leave and find Nina.
“Captain,” James called out. “We know you’re worried about Miss Nina and want to rescue her, but you have greater responsibilities. You can’t infiltrate that place again.”
After what happened, Pharaoh’s side would be on high alert.
“Then we’ll fight!” Nash growled, the words escaping through gritted teeth, his face contorted with rage.
“Captain,” Felix said, “we can’t engage Pharaoh. We’re here for peacekeeping. We can’t interfere in the internal conflict of the Yaren tribe.”
“Are you suggesting we just abandon Nina there?” Nash’s gaze was dark and sharp.
“Nina is Birkhamese. We can’t engage the Yaren tribe in conflict, but they can’t hold her either,” Nash added.
“That’s not what we mean, Captain. We understand you’re worried, but we can negotiate. The Yaren tribe has no reason to start a conflict with Birkham,” Felix explained.
Negotiation was a viable option, avoiding direct combat. Birkham had always prioritized peace. An attack could escalate tensions and potentially trigger a global conflict, with other allied forces seizing the opportunity to create chaos. James added, “Captain, we need to find a way to rescue Miss Nina safely.”
Nash recalled Micah’s words about the poison. If Micah knew about the poison and had hinted at having an antidote, it was time to contact Wilfred. He had to secure Nina’s safety.
After a moment of silence, Nash dialed Wilfred’s number.
