Chapter 430

Upon seeing this, Miranda’s pupils contracted slightly, revealing a mix of shock and anger. She directly threw her phone to the ground!
Her assistant, witnessing the scene, asked, “What happened, Miranda? Why are you so angry?”
The phone kept ringing, but Miranda’s entire focus was on the news of Nina’s pregnancy.
Whose child was she carrying?
Why was she pregnant?
Didn’t they agree they hadn’t been intimate?
Why would Nina be pregnant?
Miranda clenched her fist tightly, her knuckles turning white. As the assistant approached, Miranda pushed her away, saying, “Don’t touch me!”
The assistant was startled by her reaction. Seeing it was Ruby, Miranda’s face softened a bit, tears welling up in her eyes, appearing pitiful. She buried herself in the assistant’s arms, crying. “Why, after all I’ve done, is he still not satisfied? Has he forgotten my kindness to him?” Miranda sobbed.
The assistant could not bear to blame her, seeing her so broken.
As Nina was wheeled out of the operating room, Nash quickly reached her side. Seeing her still pale, he anxiously asked, “When will she wake up? Why does she look so bad? Is the baby okay?” The doctor did not know which question to answer first, patiently responding, “The baby was almost lost, but luckily, with our efforts, it was saved. However, the patient needs to rest and avoid overexertion. She also needs to improve her nutrition. She’s too thin, and inadequate nutrition isn’t good for the baby.”
Nash’s tense heart eased a bit. “Thank you, doctor. I’ll take care of her.”
As Nina was admitted to the ward, Nash sat by her side, his eyes fixed on her. He held her hand tightly, bringing it to his lips for a kiss.
Seeing his gesture, Quincy understood how important Nina was to him. Despite his words of divorce and the early morning visit to the district court, it was just a momentary impulse.
But when Nina was truly in trouble, he was more nervous than anyone else.
He could not help but sigh.
When would they be able to reconcile?
Nash also understood his own heart. He cared about Nina, deeply. He did not know when his attention shifted to her, but once it did, he could not take it away.
But he understood very well, he was afraid of losing her. The feeling was like a knife to the heart.
“Nina, we’re not getting a divorce,” Nash declared.
After this experience, he did not want her to leave. He was afraid she would not take care of herself well, as the doctor said, she was too thin, and she could not exert herself too much.
In a low, husky voice, he said, “From now on, I’ll take good care of you.”
However, these words fell into Miranda’s ears. Outside the ward, Miranda, wearing sunglasses, witnessed everything.
The tenderness Nash showed towards Nina was unprecedented. Although Nash had given her everything she wanted, she had assumed he had her in his heart, which was why he tried to provide for her. Now she suddenly understood, it was all just her illusion. It was merely out of guilt.
Miranda clenched her fists tightly. The better Nash treated Nina, the more her heart felt like it was being punctured, gradually losing all sensation, only feeling coldness.
If Nash wanted to give her everything she wanted, why didn’t he give her his heart? What she wanted most was him!
She shed silent tears, her gaze icy, taking in everything.
Since he felt guilty, she would let him feel guilty forever, never clearing his conscience in this lifetime!
Miranda glanced at them one last time before quietly leaving.
