Chapter 348

Recognizing the urgency in Taylor’s tone, Nina glanced up at her once more. Taylor’s gaze was fixed on Nash’s office, suggesting she wanted Nina to go in there. Normally, Taylor wouldn’t drag Nina into office matters unless it was a topic circulating among colleagues. This time, it seemed serious.
In such situations, Nina tended to remain oblivious, which spared her from overthinking and putting herself in tough spot.
Nina remained at her desk, typing away on her computer, and responded casually, “Why would I need to go to his office? I’m hardly in charge of Nash’s affairs, am I?”
In reality, Nina wanted to subtly suggest to Taylor not to take office gossip too seriously.
Observing Nina still focused on her computer, indicating no urgency, Taylor felt compelled to continue, “Miranda came over early this morning. Nash asked her to his office, but she hasn’t come out yet. Something’s definitely up in there.”
Taylor did not want Nina kept in the dark. If Nina was just Nash’s wife, she should take her rightful position as the legitimate wife and not let other scheming women get ahead.
For Taylor, knowing Nina was Nash’s wife brought immense relief. She had previously rooted for them, but the revelation of Nash having a wife had dashed her hopes. Now, with the possibility back on the table, she had to keep a close watch.
She could not let Miranda, that cunning fox, take the spotlight. With her rising star status in the entertainment industry, she was a perfect match for Nash.
Nina casually turned to Taylor and asked, “She showed up this early. Did anyone bring her some tea?”
Taken aback by Nina’s nonchalance, Taylor replied, “I don’t think… anyone did.”
“Then ask Cynthia to go and serve. We need to uphold proper hospitality for our guests; otherwise, others might perceive York Corporation as impolite,” Nina stated, keeping the conversation strictly professional.
That was Nina’s usual reaction. Others might have reacted differently, perhaps exploding with anger and confronting the third party.
Was Nina wrong in her approach? But for her, it had become the norm.
When Cynthia went to the office to serve tea, the door opened, revealing Miranda’s figure with red eyes, as if deeply upset. Nina briefly glanced but did not linger on it. After a while, Cynthia came out.
“How did it go?” Taylor, even more anxious than Nina, immediately inquired about the situation upon Cynthia’s return.
With Nina present, Cynthia reported, “It seems like I overheard Mr. York scolding her. It sounded like Miranda is in a relationship, which displeased Mr. York.”
Cynthia added, cautious about her interpretation, “I’m not sure if I misunderstood, but Mr. York didn’t seem happy.”
“Miranda in a relationship?” Taylor was taken aback. Miranda practically stuck to Mr. York like glue. How could she be in a relationship?
“If she’s in a relationship, why would Mr. York be upset? Shouldn’t everyone be happy?”
Someone like Miranda, a public figure, if she were in a relationship, there would definitely be signs.
Nash knew about it and it was all over the gossip news.
“It’s true, Nina. Look, Miranda and the male actor she’s collaborating with were spotted entering the apartment together,” Taylor checked the trending topics, showing photos of them entering the apartment in a celebrity entourage vehicle.
That show was currently a hit. Some fans even shipped them, believing they’re in a relationship.
But other fans were saying it was not true, urging not to drag their beloved artists into it.
