Chapter 644

Miranda smiled gently. “It’s settled then. Nash will be pleased.”
“When you’re heading back, be cautious. It’s not safe in the city right now with those female body cases popping up,” Seth warned her. Mentioning this, Miranda asked, “Dad, has the organization mobilized again? I’ve overheard Nash discussing it with his men.” Seth looked up, surprised. “Nash is investigating this?”
Miranda nodded. “Yes, he is.”
A sudden idea struck Seth, and he started to smile. “In that case, give him a tip. It might help him solve the case quickly.”
“I can’t sit still. I’m going crazy with anxiety!” Nelly said as she paced back and forth, unable to stay seated.
“What’s the rush? It hasn’t even started yet, and you’ve never been this nervous before,” Nina remarked.
“You don’t understand. This is my baby. Of course, I want it to do well. The uncertainty is what’s making me anxious!” Nelly replied.
“Sit down,” Nina urged, pulling her into a chair. “Whether it succeeds or not, we’ll find out during the eight o’clock slot. If it doesn’t go well, there’s always a chance to try again.”
“It has to go well. We’ve invested everything in this, and you need to make money for your baby,” Nelly said, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
Nina was also feeling the pressure. Having bet everything on this project, it was natural for her to be worried. Once it started, there was no turning back. She could only hope for the best.
In addition to the investment, there were promotional costs and other expenses, all adding to the stakes. She had essentially risked everything.
“Did you hear? ‘Demon Bone’ is also airing at eight. They’re clearly trying to compete with us for viewership!” Angel announced after reading the news.
‘Demon Bone’ had suddenly taken the eight o’clock slot, clearly aiming to compete. They had spent heavily on marketing and promotion.
They had been buying trending spots and making their ads more aggressive. With a strong series backing, they had already hit several trending topics. Everyone could see ‘Demon Bone’ everywhere when scrolling through videos.
In contrast, Nina’s team had spent a lot on production but only allocated a small amount for promotion. The popularity and recognition of their series certainly could not compare to ‘Demon Bone’.
Nelly was losing confidence, clasping her hands together in a prayer. “Please, just let us break even. I don’t need it to be a huge hit.”
The doorbell rang.
“Angel, can you get the door?”
Opening the door, Angel found Yvonne standing there. “Surprise!”
Nina greeted her warmly. “What are you doing here?”
“I had to come support you on the premiere night of ‘Glory’. I brought beer and fried chicken. Let’s watch it together!” Yvonne replied, smiling.
“You’re such a good friend,” Nina said, laughing.
“Of course! I’ve even recommended it to my friends and colleagues. It’s going to be a hit!” Yvonne declared.
“I hope so,” Nelly said, her nerves showing.
They were all on edge, anxiously awaiting the eight o’clock hour. As the drama began, they were glued to their screens, monitoring real-time viewership stats.
While they were engrossed in their own drama, Nina kept an eye on the buzz around ‘Demon Bone’. It was trending on multiple top spots, indicating strong initial viewership.
Meanwhile, ‘Glory’ was trending but not as prominently, with their promotional efforts only placing them in the middle range.
As the episode ended, ‘Demon Bone’ continued to dominate the trending topics.
“Is their drama really that good? It’s been trending for hours. They must be buying those spots!” Yvonne grumbled. “The plot is nonsensical, and the main character is just a lovesick fool. How is that better than our suspenseful and thrilling storyline?”
