Chapter 652

The driver knocked Miranda unconscious, and slung her over his shoulder. He then got out of the car, and moved to another vehicle, disappearing from sight.
—
Nina was unconscious but vaguely felt the jostling, which almost made her vomit. When she woke up, she found her hands and feet bound and smelled a strong odor of gasoline. She was in a wooden house, and it seemed like there was someone else tied to the pillar behind her. Straining to turn her head, she saw the edge of the other person’s clothes and recognized who it was.
Miranda!
Nina furrowed her brows.
Why was she tied up with Miranda?
Where were they?
Despite her panic, Nina forced herself to stay calm.
Since she and Miranda were both bound, it was clear that their captor was an enemy of them both, ruling out the possibility that Miranda had orchestrated this.
If someone had a grudge against both of them, it was likely connected to Nash. Could it be related to the female corpse case?
“Who is it? Who kidnapped me?” she shouted.
Miranda woke up, tense and alert, looking around warily. She struggled against her bonds.
Nina pursed her lips, reluctant to talk to Miranda but needing to warn her. “Don’t move, there’s someone behind you!”
Miranda finally noticed Nina behind her. “Nina?”
“You’re here too. Who kidnapped me? Are you jealous of me and did this on purpose?” Miranda immediately accused her. “Are you crazy?”
“Can you use your brain for once?” Nina snapped, losing patience. “I’m tied up too!”
Miranda was flustered, unable to stay calm. “Who on earth kidnapped me? Do they know who I am?”
As Miranda continued to rant, Nina was exasperated and warned her, “You’re tied up and at their mercy. Even if you’re royalty, if they want you dead, you’re dead!”
Miranda could not believe she was in this situation. She could not fathom who would go to such lengths to kidnap her.
“Nash will come to save me!” Miranda clung to this hope. “Once he realizes I’m missing, he’ll come for me.” She then taunted Nina, “Someone will save me. But you? No one will.”
Nina had no interest in engaging with her. Miranda’s attempts to belittle her were childish and pointless.
Despite the current calm, it was likely that individuals involved in the female corpse case were still around.
Kidnapping them indicated that their captors were probably desperate, using them as leverage. These desperate individuals were still dangerous, evidenced by their ability to blow up a road and kidnap them so recklessly. “Nina, didn’t you hear me? Are you out of words, finally realizing how pathetic you are?” Miranda taunted, always eager to one-up Nina.
Nina had no desire to engage with her at all.
Suddenly, there was noise outside the door, and Miranda fell silent.
The door opened, and they heard exaggerated laughter.
“Well done, you’ve got them both!”
A man with a scarred face walked in, and Nina recognized him from her previous kidnapping. It was the same man.
Sawyer glared at them with hatred. “Nash dared to destroy my base, so I’ll make sure he loses everything!”
“It’s you, Sawyer!” Miranda’s expression changed. “Kidnapping Nina is one thing, but why me?”
Sawyer looked at Miranda with even more hatred. “You ask me? Ask your dear father what he did!”
“How dare you! It was you who betrayed us, and now you blame my father? Neither he nor Nash will let you get away with this!” “Ah-”
Sawyer slapped Miranda hard across the face.
