Chapter 372

Not far away, Nina looked at the figure of Nash and called out softly. Yvonne was beside her. Yvonne, worried about her, accompanied her to the hospital, only to see such a chaotic scene.
Nash heard the voice and instinctively froze, turning back to see Nina standing unscathed before him. In that moment, he felt incredibly moved. The person he almost lost was suddenly back by his side, a feeling he had never experienced before. He quickly hurried over and hugged Nina tightly.
Nina did not expect such a strong reaction from him, her hands unsure where to go. She only felt his grip tighten, almost making it hard for her to breathe.
In that moment, Nash realized just how afraid he was of losing her. He never wanted to lose her again! With her by his side, he felt a sense of security he had never felt before.
Nash reached out and stroked her hair, his voice becoming hoarse but gentle, as if afraid to startle her away again. “Where did you go? Do you know how worried I was about you?”
As the words fell, everyone nearby was stunned. They only saw Nina as a secretary. Despite being by his side for years, when it came to crucial company matters, she was disposable and easily replaceable. So, how did she end up in Nash’s embrace, appearing so intimately close to him?
Even the Jasper couple could not understand. But Taylor once again confirmed that Nina was likely Nash’s wife. She had speculated about it before, but Nina’s avoidance had made her stop thinking about it. However, she had never seen Nash so nervous before. Moreover, the way he defended Nina so passionately indicated that their relationship was not ordinary.
Taylor also did not perceive Nash’s defense of her earlier as solely because she was an employee of his company. Instead, she saw it as him offering extra protection because of Nina’s connection with her. After a pause of about ten seconds, Nina calmly pushed him away and stepped back from his embrace. “I was rescued by fishermen and taken to the hospital. I did not have anything on me, so I asked the nurse to call Yvonne. I was fortunate that I was rescued by fishermen when I fell into the sea, and now I’m fine.”
Her words were calm, as if nothing had happened at all. She did not fuss or make a scene, but was extremely gentle and normal towards him, which caught Nash off guard.
He would rather have her yelling and complaining about him not coming, rather than being so obedient and understanding, which made him feel a twinge of guilt.
“Nina, I…” Nash began, his voice low with guilt. But before he could finish, Nina covered his mouth with her hand and smiled at him. “It’s okay, I know everything now. Really, I’m fine.”
In fact, when Nina fell into the sea, she could have chosen not to come back and just disappear from Nash’s side. It would have been the perfect opportunity for her to leave.
However, her parents were here, her friends were here, and she could not cut off contact completely. Furthermore, she fell into the sea with Stella.
If she had just left like that, who knows what trouble would have arisen later. She could not afford to remain in a state of uncertainty, afraid of being falsely accused, and risk losing the chance to clear her name later on.
Seeing Nina unharmed, Taylor wiped away her tears and approached her, calling out, “Nina.”
Nina looked at her, understanding her anxiety, and smiled, “I’m fine.”
Sure enough, as soon as Mrs. Jasper saw Nina, she became even more agitated, convinced that she was the culprit who harmed her daughter.
She scolded loudly, “You’re Nina, the one who hurt my daughter! You dare to come here? Perfect timing! I’m going to hold you accountable. My daughter is lying unconscious in the hospital bed, and you are definitely involved!”
