Nina finished the last of the juice in her cup before giving his wine glass a final tap. It was their cheerful farewell.
Earlier, they had a delightful meal together. Before leaving, she placed the divorce agreement on the table again. Next to it were two tickets to Frangelia.
However, these tickets were not for her and Nash. They were for him and Miranda. She wanted to let him know that she was giving him his freedom. Frangelia, being such a romantic place, was more suitable for him to go with his beloved.
Having done what she needed to do, Nina packed her bags and left the house. That night, no one stayed awake. Everything went smoothly.
The next day… “Mr. York!”
“Mr. York, wake up!”
Nash gradually regained consciousness, his head still heavy, as if weighed down by a huge stone. He rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on, but remembered Nina cooking for him yesterday. He stood up abruptly, his cold eyes scanning the surroundings, devoid of Nina’s presence.
“Mr. York, are you alright? Do you need to go to the hospital?” Quincy asked, concerned, noticing his pale complexion.
Early in the morning, the helpers found Nash asleep here, unable to wake him, so they called Quincy.
Nash could not forget the resolute look Nina had given him, determined to leave him, even resorting to drugging him.
He sat back down, a bitter smile on his lips. “So, she wanted to leave me before doing this.”
“Are you referring to Madam? Did she really leave?” Quincy sensed the situation and added, “I’ll send someone to bring Madam back immediately!” “No need,” Nash interrupted him.
Quincy returned and found Nash sitting in his chair, unmoved. His expression was cold and distant, with a hint of detachment and indifference in his eyes. Quincy could not help but add, “Mr. York, you must have noticed something unusual about but you knowingly walked into her trap yesterday!”
Nina wanted to leave, resorting to such tactics. In that moment, Nash was also playing along with her desires.
Previously, when she wanted to leave, as long as he objected, she would not have argued.
This time, she went all out. Despite her reluctance, she pretended to be happy and put on a smile to please him.
She was setting him up.

Nash freshened up, changed into a suit, and proceeded to the company at the usual time, as if nothing had changed in his life. After Nina left, it was as if she had never existed. And so, many days passed peacefully.
The people Nash had tasked with investigating Nina’s whereabouts had some news.
“Mr. York, I’ve found out about Miss Nina’s movements during those days…”
Upon hearing this, Nash felt even more annoyed and replied coldly, “There’s no need to investigate now. I’m not interested in her!”
The person on the other end had put in a lot of effort to find out, and did not want it to end just like that.
Taking his responsibility seriously, he told Nash, “Understood, Mr. York. But I think you must know about this. It may be Miss Nina’s biggest secret hidden from you.”
