Chapter 392

After pausing for several seconds, Nina looked up at Kate. “You want me to interview the CEO of York Corporation?”
Kate folded her hands and stood up casually. “Yes, any problem? Interviewing Nash isn’t something anyone can handle. You’re the most suitable.”
Nina closed the file and said, “My resume clearly states that I left York Corporation. Aren’t you sending me back?”
She had left York Corporation without notice. Returning now would be embarrassing.
Kate shrugged, unaware of Nina’s conflict with Nash. “Just because you came from York Corporation doesn’t mean you’re off the hook. This task is yours.”
Nina placed the file on the table. “Chief Editor, I decline this assignment.”
She did not want any more involvement with Nash.
Moreover, he would not treat her well this time. It was a dilemma.
Kate insisted, “Didn’t I say it before? You need to step out of your comfort zone. Interviewing Nash is a challenge, but I’ve assigned it to others before. Nash isn’t giving anyone an easy time, but your old connections might help.”
This task had been delayed for a while, and Nina’s arrival seemed like a destined opportunity.
“If you complete this task, it proves your capability, and it’ll make future assignments easier. I’ll be the first to consider you,” Kate said, looking at Nina. “You left York Corporation to prove yourself, and I’m giving you that chance. Isn’t that good enough?”
Nina found an excuse. “Haven’t you considered that I left because of a conflict with the York Corporation?”
Kate replied, “I only care about results. It’s a challenge for you, after all.”
With that, Kate returned to her office.
She had observed Nina for several days before making up her mind. She could not hit a wall for the second time. If Nash did not accept the interview, she had to challenge herself and tackle this tough nut. Nina watched Kate leave without considering her refusal. It seemed there was no way out but to accept.
Nina felt very distressed. This was even more difficult and tiring than working at York Corporation. How could she face it?
Her mind was in turmoil. She had never imagined that she would still have to deal with Nash’s affairs after coming to the TV station. She thought that by joining the TV station, she could do what she loved. But she could not escape Nash.
Nina pondered for a long time. The file was still on the table. It clearly stated the details of the interview with Nash, including an exclusive interview and even a mention of a documentary towards the end. In Nina’s impression, Nash rarely appeared in the media. Even when necessary for York Corporation’s work, he would not meet with media separately, maybe once or twice at most.
Given Nash’s reserved nature, agreeing to an interview was already difficult, let alone a documentary. Nash would not agree.
Nina’s mind was in a mess. Suddenly, the file fell to the ground with a clatter, breaking her contemplation.
She glanced up to find Michelle Jacobs passing by with a water cup as the scattered file lay on the ground.
Michelle squatted down, her expression changing as she saw the big words “Interview with Nash” on the papers. “The chief editor asked you to interview Nash?”
