Whatever Nash said now, Nina felt it was abnormal. She added, “There’s no space here for your things.”
Nash looked around and immediately opened the closet door, finding a small space inside. He said, “There’s room here, I don’t mind!” He then commanded, “Quincy!”

Seeing Nina silent, Nash asked again, “You didn’t eat anything just now. Are you hungry? Would you like something to eat?”
Nina was already full of frustration and couldn’t eat anything. “I’m not hungry.”

“Madam, I’ll do it.” He immediately prepared it for Nina.
Nina said, “Didn’t I say before? There’s no need to call me ‘Madam’.”
“Now it’s different. You’re no longer at the York residence, but still Mr. York’s wife. Calling you ‘Madam’ is only appropriate,” Quincy replied, sticking to the formalities. He treated Nina with the same respect as he did Nash.
Accepting the warm honey water Quincy poured, Nina returned to the sofa and watched TV for a while. There was no sound from the kitchen.
She was actually curious about what Nash could come up with, but she didn’t want to go look for herself.
Half an hour later, unable to resist her curiosity, she quietly approached the kitchen door. The kitchen wasn’t large and it barely accommodated one person. Nash’s tall figure seemed to fill the space entirely. She saw him cooking soup, with his phone playing a cooking tutorial video beside him. The soup was boiling, and Nash reached for the lid. She instinctively wanted to stop him, but before she could say anything, it was too late.
The lid was scalding hot. Nash, lacking experience, burned his hand badly.
Perhaps he didn’t want Nina to notice, so he carefully set it down before lifting his hand. Nina noticed his reddened, burned hand.
Yet, he ignored it and carried on following the recipe from the video. From where she stood, she could see the title: “Pregnancy Recipes.”
Nina didn’t know how to feel at the moment. Clearly, she had resolved to distance herself from him, yet he always appeared in front of her inadvertently, doing things that made her feel uneasy.
If only she had a stronger heart. Perhaps then, things wouldn’t have turned out like this. But she had always been like this, appearing indifferent on the surface but actually quite soft-hearted. She couldn’t stand this anymore.
