Upon hearing that, Nina thought something was wrong and asked with concern, “Uncomfortable? Where does it hurt?”
Her eyes widened as she looked at him.
Looking at her face, Nash said in a husky voice, “My body hurts.”
Nina quickly checked to see what was wrong. When she felt his burning body and heard his labored breathing, she realized what was happening.
Her face immediately turned red, and she pulled away, a bit annoyed. “At a time like this, you’re thinking about that? Can’t you control yourself?”
“It’s a natural reaction. How could I possibly control it?” Nash said with a hint of helplessness, trying to calm the fire within him.
Nina retorted, “I think you just think about it too much. It’s always on your mind!”
Nash looked at her and disagreed, saying, “If I didn’t think about it, that would be a problem. If I couldn’t get an erection being this close, I might as well be useless!”
Nina, embarrassed by his bluntness, could not respond directly.
“Just sleep,” Nash said, pulling her close and suppressing his desire. “It’s okay, I can bear it.”
Nina lay on her side, her back against him, to rest. She was worried about facing him, but she knew he had never forced her before and had always respected her, so he would not start now.
With Nash holding her, his body pressed tightly against hers, she could still feel the change in his body. It made her even more still, afraid to move.
Before long, Nina fell asleep. Being pregnant, she should have been more inclined to sleep, but her nightmares had disrupted her rest recently.
In Nash’s arms, she seemed to worry less and did not have any nightmares.
Nash watched her sleeping face, feeling much more at ease with her by his side. As long as she was there, he felt like he could get through anything.
He could not help but smile. He gently stroked her face and brushed the hair from her forehead to make her more comfortable.

When James entered, Nina was already asleep. Nash put a finger to his lips, signaling for silence. They all kept quiet, careful not to wake Nina. They then left silently.
After watching her for a while, Nash carefully shifted his arm and placed a pillow under her head. Seeing that she did not wake up, he got out of bed and slowly walked to the door.
James looked concerned as Nash came out. “Captain York, why are you out of bed? You’re still injured.”
Nash, holding his chest, spoke seriously, “Did you manage to track down the group that kidnapped Nina?”
James looked down. “Sorry, Captain York. The area is complex, and they know it better than we do. We lost them.”
They had tried their best. However, after crossing the bridge, the roads became like a maze, and the kidnappers had managed to shake them off quickly.
Though Nash had been focused on saving Nina, he had also sensed that the attackers had been targeting him specifically. “Could it be the same group from before?”
“You mean the ones from back then?” James asked.
“Yes.”
James hesitated. “That person is still in prison. How could they be causing trouble from there? But they were after your wife. Could she have provoked them?”
Nash had not figured it out yet, but from the way things were, it seemed like Nina had been under their watch for some time. “It could be a hit job. This isn’t the first time they’ve tried to kidnap her. If there’s a second attempt so soon after the first, Nina must have crossed someone.”
