Chapter 606

Scott returned home and began searching through all his documents, trying to learn about the organization called Nile.
He wondered how he could get in touch with them and whether he had even a slim chance of obtaining the antidote.
He spent the whole night searching. The organization was very secretive and operated in border countries to avoid sanctions. Some of the people who had been captured over the years spoke different languages and did not appear to be from the same ethnic group. At this moment, the door opened, and Scott’s mother walked in. “Scott, what are you doing? Why is everything so messy?”
“I’m searching for information.”
“What kind of information is worth losing sleep over? You haven’t slept, have you?” Scott’s mother, who looked like a gentle and kind housewife, spoke softly. “You’ve been so busy with work these days, and now you don’t rest. How can your body take it? Besides, Yasmine will be here soon. You need to be ready to spend time with her. Stop what you’re doing and rest for a while.”
She pulled Scott towards the sofa, urging him to lie down for a bit. Seeing his tired face, she felt even more worried.
“Mom, I’m fine.” Scott pulled away from her. “I need to keep looking.”
Seeing the documents he was going through, she asked, “What is all this? I thought it was work-related, but it’s about some criminal organization. Are you planning to become a police officer?” “People’s lives are at stake.”
“But nothing is more important than my son’s life,” she insisted. “Whatever you’re doing, take care of your health first. You’ve lost weight recently!”
Scott suddenly remembered something and looked at his mother. “Mom, you mentioned before which ethnic group Yasmine is from?”
Seeing his interest in Yasmine, his mother smiled. “You’re finally showing interest in Yasmine? Her father is from the Yaren tribe. She’s mixed-race and very beautiful. She’d be a great match for you!”
Scott looked back at his documents and noticed a connection. The Yaren people were known for their skills in making medicines and poisons. Could there be a link?
“When is Yasmine coming?” Scott asked again.
“She’ll be here soon. She called earlier and said she wanted to have some of my chicken soup.” Scott’s question made his mother even happier. Her lifelong dream was to see Scott marry a woman he loved, and now it seemed close to coming true. “That girl is delightful. I really like her. If only…”
She looked up, but Scott was already out of the study.
“This boy is always in such a rush!” She followed him out.
In less than ten minutes, Yasmine arrived. This time, she wore a beautiful dress and brought some gifts. As soon as she walked in, she greeted warmly, “Mrs. Lucas!”
Both Scott and his mother were there. His mother immediately stood up to greet her. “Oh, Yasmine, you didn’t have to bring gifts. Just having you here is enough!” “It’s just a small token, Mrs. Lucas. Please don’t mind!”
“Of course not,” his mother said, then tried to matchmake again. “Scott was just asking about you. He couldn’t wait to see you.”
Yasmine blushed. “Really, Mrs. Lucas? You’re not teasing me, are you?”
“It’s true!” Scott’s mother was delighted.
She had tried to set them up before, but Scott had been very stubborn and uninterested.
Scott did not want to talk about romantic matters. He looked at Yasmine and got straight to the point. “I heard from my mom that your father is Yaren?”
“Yes,” Yasmine said as she sat down. “Why? Are you interested in my family now?”
“Is it true that the Yaren people are skilled in making medicines and poisons?” Scott asked again.
