Her expression darkened. “Who did this?”
“Starry Sky TV Station.”
In a fit of rage, Miranda smashed a cup. “IIer again! Nina! She’s always against me. After everything I’ve been through, I come out unscathed, and she still can’t see who’s in charge. That bitch!”
Her assistant, though accustomed to her tantrums, was shocked by the malicious expression on her face.
Miranda continued, “Does she think making one drama means she’s part of this industry? She should realize where I stand. Even her drama can’t compete with mine!”
The assistant had to be honest. “Miranda, our last drama got heavily criticized. It was filled with unnecessary scenes and was trashed by viewers. Even our director got harassed online, while their drama became a hit!”
“What? That’s impossible! We were popular from the start, and they were nobodies. How could their drama become a hit? You’re lying to me! How did everything change just because I was gone for a while?”
Miranda, hearing this, was in shock. She had been blindly confident in her acting career, believing that her first successful drama guaranteed future successes.
But things hadn’t gone as planned. Her competitiveness and jealousy led to her second drama flopping, starting strong but ending poorly. It was now labeled a flop, and the more attention it got, the worse the backlash.
With the recent negative press and her constant involvement in scandals, viewers were growing tired of her antics. Her fans were deserting her, with major fan accounts deciding to withdraw their support.
Seeing this, Miranda felt her world collapsing. Iler life hadn’t been glamorous, but there were always people paving the way for her. She thought everything would go smoothly forever. Reality taught her a harsh lesson.
Looking at the flood of online criticism, Miranda’s face went pale. “That bitch wants to ruin me! How can she do this? Does she think she can beat me? I’m Miranda! I’m going to win awards! How can her lies become the truth?”
She angrily swept everything off the table. But she needed a way to fix this.
“Call my manager immediately and get them to handle the PR!” Miranda screamed at her assistant and her eyes were red with fury.
The assistant was frantic, bombarded with calls from reporters and media outlets. She had turned off her phone out of desperation. She quickly turned it back on and called the manager.
The manager, however, was furious. “There’s a problem every other day, Miranda. You need to take responsibility. You don’t even focus on your acting, and now this? If you’ve committed a crime, not even ten companies can save you. Whoever manages you is doomed. Figure this out yourself. If you can’t, you’ll be blacklisted. I’m done. Find yourself a new manager who can fix your mess!”
Hearing this, Miranda became even more agitated. “How can you say that? There’s no evidence! If you don’t handle this, the company will hold you accountable. You’re my manager! If you don’t fix this, how am I supposed to keep working?”
