Chapter 1024

At that moment, Nash and Nina were exchanging rings when Remi burst in.
“Wait! You’re already finishing the ceremony, and I haven’t even given you my gift yet?” Remi’s loud voice cut through the crowd, leaving the guests exchanging uneasy glances.
Those who knew her could not hide their discomfort. Pharaoh shot Micah a glance, and Micah strode over to confront her.
“Can’t whatever you need wait until after the wedding?” Micah’s tone was firm as he approached, with Freya quickly joining him, surrounding Remi.
This time, Freya was not just a bystander. She was here to protect.
Remi smirked. “Didn’t I make myself clear? I’m here to deliver a wedding gift. Why are you all so tense? It’s just me, after all. It’s not like I could ruin the whole wedding on my own, right?”
Though Remi had arrived alone, no one was ready to let their guard down. After all, she was once Nash’s arranged fiancée under Dominic’s orders. And she had never truly let go of her feelings for him.
Micah firmly gripped her wrist. “I don’t know if you plan to ruin the wedding, but you weren’t invited. So why are you here?”
Freya moved in swiftly, wrapping an arm around Remi’s waist.
Remi noticed the movement but was not quick enough to stop her. After all, Freya was well-trained and she had a responsibility to protect both Micah and Nina.
Fearing the wedding might take a dangerous turn, especially with Micah now in Birkham, Freya had come prepared. She discreetly armed herself, just in case. So when she pressed the gun against Remi’s side, she was ready for any reaction.
But Remi did not flinch. Instead, her smirk deepened, dripping with mockery. “I never expected this,” she sneered. “After all, we were once engaged. I’ve let go of the fact that you discarded me, but this is how you welcome me?” she called out, raising her voice. Her eyes locked onto Nash, hoping to stir things up.
The crowd buzzed with confusion and curiosity.
“What? Nash was dead for five years, has a kid, and now there’s a fiancée in the mix?”
“I never heard anything about him being engaged. What’s going on? What did we miss over the past five years?”
“Looks like the drama never ends with the rich families. It’s like watching a live soap opera.”
Zion and Julia, looked especially displeased. Although they were only Nina’s adoptive parents, from the moment they took her in, they had treated her as their own daughter. When Nina married Nash without a proper wedding, they were already somewhat unhappy about it.
Nash had been presumed dead for five years, during which Nina had grieved deeply for him. And now, instead of making up for everything, he allowed this kind of drama to unfold at their wedding!
To make matters worse, both Nash and Nina’s expressions clearly showed their discomfort, confirming that this woman had indeed once been Nash’s fiancée.
A smug smile spread across Remi’s face. She had done this on purpose, eager to see how everyone would react once they found out she had once been Nash’s fiancée.
The shock and murmurs of the guests were exactly what she had hoped for. Whether Nash decided to throw her out or stop the wedding altogether, her goal was simple. It was to ensure that Nash and Nina’s wedding would not go off without a hitch.
But what she did not expect was for Nash to take Nina’s hand and lead her to the center of the stage. Their fingers interlocked as Nash held their hands high for everyone to see.
With a steady, resolute voice, Nash spoke out, “Everyone, listen closely and look carefully. From the beginning until now, the only person I’ve ever loved is Nina.”
