Chapter 1043

“Alright,” Dominic responded, watching Nash turn away. Although Nash said he would visit when he could, Dominic knew deep down that this might be the last time they would see each other. But Dominic could not let him leave just like that. He caught up to Nash, and even though Nash had refused earlier, Dominic still shoved the bank card into his hand.
“It’s all in Birkham currency. This isn’t for you, it’s for my grandson. I was too hard on him in the past.”
That was why Orion had not contacted him once since he left.
“Don’t tell me Orion doesn’t need it. You better save this money for him!” Dominic insisted firmly.
Then, thinking of Nina, Dominic asked, “Can I have a moment alone with Nina? Don’t worry, with the current situation and all these people around, I couldn’t do anything to her even if I wanted to.” Nash hesitated but eventually called Nina over to Dominic.
Nina approached respectfully. “Father.”
Dominic, shocked, stared at her in disbelief. “I tried to kill you before, and yet you’re still willing to call me that?”
His voice trembled with emotion.
Nina smiled gently. She held no grudges. “Father, I can’t expect everyone to like me. Even if you don’t like me, the bond between you and Nash can never be severed.”
As Nash’s wife, it was only natural for her to address Dominic as “Father.”
Hearing this, Dominic was overwhelmed with guilt. “Nina, to be honest, when I first found Nash and realized you two hadn’t even had a wedding, I thought it meant he didn’t care for you. A man who truly loves a woman wouldn’t neglect the promises and ceremonies that show that love.
“I even considered pushing him to divorce you and come to Salterra so I could arrange a new marriage for him. But to my surprise, he refused. And over time, I saw how deeply he loved you. Nina, I’ve wronged Nash in many ways, and now I sincerely hope you both can live a happy life together. Please, don’t let him down.”
Dominic’s voice grew thick with emotion, and his eyes reddened.
Nina smiled warmly. “You don’t need to worry. He’s been the man I’ve loved for so many years. I wouldn’t let him down, not for anything.”
She had loved Nash for a long, long time. She would even been willing to sacrifice her life for him.
“I didn’t believe in you before, but now I do. Nash didn’t grow up with me, so our bond isn’t as strong as it might be with other fathers and sons. He doesn’t turn to me when things go wrong. But if something ever happens, please, tell me. Will you?” Dominic’s voice was almost pleading, a father willing to do anything for his child. There was no truer statement.
Nina reassured him, “Father, don’t worry. If anything comes up, I’ll let you know. All I ask is that you accept Nash and me and stop putting obstacles in our way.”
