CEO’s Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery Chapter 1826

Chapter 1826

“Dr. Norman… my life is so miserable. If I had known it would come to this, I’d rather have died than gotten married. What do I do now? If it were just me, I’d leave everything behind and disappear. But my daughter is only eight years old-she’s still so little,” the woman
sobbed.
Karina hesitated for a moment. “You do need to consider her…”
Suddenly, she thought of Wilfred. Among her own connections, she didn’t know anyone in the legal field. But Wilfred might.
Still, since she hadn’t asked him yet, she couldn’t promise anything. For now, she focused on calming both the mother and the child.
The little girl was surprisingly mature for her age. At just eight years old and barely into elementary school, she didn’t fully understand the situation or what had been done to her.
In her own innocent words, she said, “Daddy just played a little game with me. He said if I didn’t cry, I’d get a reward.”
Even so, she understood that her mother was upset because of her.
“Mommy, don’t cry. It doesn’t hurt at all,” she said softly, patting her mother’s hand in comfort.
The woman stared at her daughter in shock, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face.
Karina felt a sharp ache in her heart. Such a kind, understanding little girl, and yet she had been subjected to such cruelty.
She cast one last glance at the mother and daughter embracing in her office before silently closing the door and walking briskly toward Wilfred’s office, her anger simmering so intensely it seemed to propel her forward. Knock, knock, knock. She rapped on the door but got no response.
She was about to knock again when Wilfred’s voice came from behind her. “Looking for me?”
Startled, Karina turned to see him adjusting his white coat.
“I just finished an emergency surgery,” he explained, his exhaustion barely concealed.
Karina now noticed how drained he looked. Surgery was always physically and mentally taxing, even for someone as capable as Wilfred.
“There’s something I need your help with,” she said.
“Alright, let’s talk inside.” Wilfred reached out and pushed the door open. He stepped aside, clearly waiting for her to enter first.
Once she was inside, he followed, closing the door behind them.
Karina didn’t waste any time. “A patient’s family came to me earlier, and I heard something that made me think of you. Do you know anyone in the legal field who could help?”
Wilfred raised an eyebrow, signaling for her to continue.
She explained the situation in detail, recounting what had happened to the little girl.
Wilfred remained silent throughout, listening intently. But the longer she spoke, the tighter his brow furrowed, and the colder his gaze became. His eyes seemed to radiate an icy fury by the time she finished.
By the end, Karina’s throat was dry from talking so much, but she barely noticed, watching him anxiously. “Do you think it’s possible?”
Without a word, Wilfred pulled out his phone and dialed a number right in front of her.
After a brief conversation, he hung up and turned to her. “I just spoke to a friend. He’s no longer practicing
law, but he has strong connections

in the field. He’ll visit tomorrow I’ve set a meeting spot. You’ll come with
me to meet him.”
Karina felt a weight lift off her chest. Her face lit up with relief. “Thank you!”
With the biggest obstacle out of the way, Karina wasted no time heading back to share the good news with the woman.
The mother was so moved that she
burst into tears, grabbing Karina’s hands tightly as she choked out, “Thank you, Dr. Norman. Thank you so much. You’re such a kind person. Without you, I wouldn’t know what to do
Karina felt a bit overwhelmed by the gratitude There’s no need to thank me. I’m just doing what I can. Besides, I can’t guarantee anything yet. We’ll have to see how things go after meeting the lawyer.
“I’ll be in touch with you,” she added.
