These words made Nina’s nose sting, tears threatening to spill from her eyes again. She looked up, trying to hold back the tears, hating how emotional she was becoming. “Tell me, how did you find the antidote for my poison? Where did you get it?” Nina asked, confused by the sudden discovery of a cure when so many had tried and failed.
Nash was silent for a moment before he said, “I begged for it.”
“Begged who?” Nina pressed.
“My father.”
Nina was taken aback. “Your father?”
“Not William, but my biological father,” Nash said coldly.
Nina was surprised. “You found your biological father?”
“He found me.”
Nina didn’t expect this turn of events, but she could tell from Nash’s tone that he didn’t want his biological father to find him. After all, they had never met, so there was no emotional connection.
He acknowledged his father to get the antidote for her. This made Nina feel bad, realizing she had left Nash with no choice, essentially tying him down.

Nina’s mood sank. “So this was the deal you made?”
“Yes.” Nash admitted, “I made a deal with him. In three months, I won’t be Nash anymore. Everything I own, I want to give to you. Help me keep it safe. This was my grandfather’s wish, and I want you to protect it. Your future will be secure and worry-free.” To him, it was a win-win solution. Everything from the Nash family could only belong to Nina, not anyone else.
Nina didn’t know whether to feel happy or sad. So, this was the truth. This deal included pushing her out. Nash still agreed to it. She wondered why they had ended up like this. It was all destined.
Nina smiled bitterly. She could understand Nash. Faced with two choices, life or death, he would certainly choose her survival over anything else.
Nina buried her face in his chest, her eyes moist. “So, we don’t have much time left.”
“Yes.” Nash responded quietly. He didn’t know how much longer he had, how much longer he could remain himself. He had chosen his fate, but it was hard on Nina.
Nina suddenly felt a sense of relief. She had learned that having loved, even briefly, was the most important thing. She lifted her head and kissed Nash on the lips. “So, what are we waiting for?” Nash’s eyes burned with intensity as he looked at her.
“Here, we are free. I need this time with you, even if it’s only for a few days. At least we would have had this,” Nina smiled through her tears. “Take me…”
