Nash’s eyes darkened. Last night, his condition flared up, so he couldn’t be with her. He apologized, “I’m sorry.”
“I don’t want an apology,” Nina said, letting go of him.
Nash pulled her back, “We were both angry last night. I was afraid we’d fight, so I waited for you to calm down before coming to you.”

Nina spoke, “Next time I’m mad, you need to comfort me. It doesn’t matter if it works right away. You need to try. When I ask you to comfort me, it doesn’t mean I’ll instantly forgive you. But if you don’t even try, it shows you don’t care about me. Over time, I’ll start to think you don’t love me.”
Nash was taken aback, “Is that how it is?”
Nina sat down, “You didn’t know? Women may not say it, but they have a lot on their minds.”
“Lesson learned,” Nash replied. “I don’t have much experience. If I do something wrong, tell me, and I’ll fix it.”
Seeing his sincere attitude, Nina smiled. She traced circles on his chest with her finger and asked, “What about Miranda? She disappeared, right? Where is she now?”
Nash answered honestly, “She’s not with me. I don’t know where she is.”
“You didn’t protect her?” Nina asked.
Nash sighed, “I never loved Miranda.”
“Who would believe that?”
Nash explained, “Maybe it looked like we were close from your perspective, but the truth is, she’s a child of the York family. I took her place, so I had to take care of her to some extent. I didn’t expect it to cause so much trouble.”
Nina propped her chin on her hands, listening to his explanation. Perhaps they had many misunderstandings. Neither of them would speak up, either because they didn’t want to or they were avoiding the issue.

Nash continued, “I can’t leave you here alone. I know you want to find Scott. I already have a way to locate him. Once we find him, I hope you and he can return to our country and never come back here.”
Nina fell silent again. She wondered if she was really Micah’s sister. If so, did she have a significant connection to the Pharaoh? The thought terrified her. Nina’s hand trembled slightly. She wanted to avoid these questions.
She was startled when Micah told her that the bracelet could only belong to his sister.
Nina stood up, not wanting Nash to see her struggle, “I’ll give you an answer tomorrow.”
“Alright,” Nash said, stepping closer to her and holding her waist. “I have to go now. I haven’t been able to spend much time with you. When I’m free, I promise to make it up to you.”
He had a mission and couldn’t always be by her side.
