Micah narrowed his eyes. “How did he get poisoned with this?”
It was immediately clear to him that Nash had been poisoned, and this poison was personally developed by Pharaoh. Nash and Nina were from Birkham, yet Nash had somehow come into contact with this deadly substance. “What are you saying?” Nina was in shock, unable to fathom that Nash was poisoned.

It felt like a thunderclap went off inside Nina’s head. Suddenly, everything became clear.
Nash had planned everything meticulously before coming here. His mission wasn’t just about peacekeeping or unfinished business.
Their divorce was also tied to this critical issue. Both their poisons originated from the same enemy, the Yaren tribe.
Tears welled up in Nina’s eyes as she turned to Micah. “Do you have an antidote?”
Scarlett, Nina, Wilfred, the missing Miranda, and even the deceased Sawyer, all of them were interconnected in countless ways.
Micah shook his head. “I know about the poison, but I don’t have the antidote. Joker, calm him down.”
Micah’s tone was stern as he issued the command. Mr. Joker was injured and couldn’t approach Nash alone. Even with several people, subduing Nash was difficult.
Finally, Nina stepped forward with open arms, unafraid. Even when Nash tried to push her away, she held on tightly. “Nash, it’s me, Nina…”
Hearing her name seemed to trigger something in Nash’s mind. His eyes, bloodshot and wild, showed flashes of recognition amidst the chaos of memories and voices replaying in his head.
“Nina, get away from me! I’ll hurt you!” he warned, his voice strained.
“I’m not afraid!” Nina’s voice was resolute. “Nash, I’m here…”
Mr. Joker seized the moment, injecting Nash with a sedative. The drug took effect quickly, and within seconds, Nash collapsed into unconsciousness.
Nina held Nash tightly and kissed his forehead. “Nash, you’re such a fool! You tried to handle everything on your own to protect me without ever telling me.”
Micah spoke softly, “The poison in his body is very tricky. Each time it acts up, it’s like a wild beast taking over, as if thousands of ants are gnawing at his bones. Nina, things have reached a point where we need to do a DNA test. It will give both of us some answers.”
“I don’t need to justify myself to any of you! You dragged us into this mess. We were living peacefully in Birkham!” Nina shouted in anger, unable to stay calm any longer.
The last thing she wanted was to be Pharaoh’s daughter, knowing how evil he was.
Micah replied quietly, “You’ll be safest here with me.” With a glance, he signaled Mr. Joker, who, along with several others, moved toward Nina.
Despite her training in self-defense from Scarlett, Nina couldn’t fend them off while protecting an unconscious Nash. Mr. Joker moved swiftly, and Nina lost consciousness.
Micah instructed Mr. Joker to draw a blood sample from Nina and ordered him to get the test done.
While Mr. Joker waited outside, remaining vigilant, he was unaware that someone else was in the lab.
“What are you testing for?” the person inquired.
“A DNA test,” Mr. Joker replied.
