Quincy visibly panicked. “Miss Nina, please go back to your room. I’ll handle this.”
Sally had never liked Nina, and with Nash gone, Quincy, who had been entrusted with Nash’s wishes, could not let the widow suffer any mistreatment. Nina gestured with her hand. “There’s no need. I’ll see her myself.”

Sally’s eyes burned with anger. “How can you be so brazen? Nash died because of you!”
And her Miranda. She could never openly acknowledge her grief for Miranda.
The mention of Nash’s name felt like a sharp blade piercing Nina’s heart. His death was a wound that would never heal.
“Did you come here just to tell me this? You saw the military’s obituary, didn’t you?”
Even if Sally did not believe her words, she had to believe the official military report. Nash had died in the line of duty.
As Nina spoke, she advanced towards Sally. “Either leave, or I’ll have you removed. And are you really here just to settle accounts over Nash’s death?”
