Chapter 954
Wilfred’s eyes widened in shock. “I was summoned by the military and just got out today.”
Micah understood immediately. He then signaled with a look, “Just do the DNA test between him and me.”
“Alright.”
However, when Wilfred tried to draw Orion’s blood, the boy resisted fiercely, clenching his teeth like a cornered wild animal.
Orion quickly fled.
Micah tried to calm him down, saying, “We just need to run some tests to make sure you’re not sick. We’re Nina’s friends, and we mean no harm.” “You… liar!” Orion struggled to speak.
Micah was taken aback. He had not expected Orion to talk but he was determined to get an answer now.
Just as he was about to catch Orion, the boy ran straight into someone’s arms. Micah looked closely and realized it was Nina.
Standing beside her was a man, about six-foot-three, wearing a black mask. From his sharp, cold eyes, Micah recognized him instantly.
He blurted out, “Nash?”
“It’s me,” Nash replied in a low, hoarse voice.
He and Nina had rushed back to the Birkham military base, taking less than two hours. Nina was desperate to see her child, so they sped all the way back. Because of Nash’s identity, he had to wear a mask.
Orion looked at Nina, his eyes brimming with tears.
Nina’s eyes were also filled with tears. She knelt down, quickly pulling Orion into her arms and holding him tightly. “Orion, I’m sorry I’m late…”
At this moment, both Micah and Wilfred realized the truth. Nina already knew Orion’s identity. He was her and Nash’s child!
Since Nash was still alive, their family could finally be reunited. Wilfred understood it was time for him to step back.
He exchanged a glance with Micah, who caught on and decided to leave the scene to the reunited family.
Nash removed his mask, and Orion, recognizing him, slowly walked up to him with his head lowered.
Without saying a word, Nash pulled Orion into his arms.
Nina watched this scene unfold. It was such an ordinary moment, yet for them, it had been delayed by five long years. Even now, it felt like a distant dream, something almost too much to hope for.
Nina spoke, “You can rest easy knowing that Orion will stay with me. I’ll take him back to Birkham, where he’ll have a safe and good environment. We can live together peacefully. When you have free time, you can come back to Birkham and visit us.” On their way back, Nash had held Nina’s hand tightly. Although they had not spoken, their hearts were united.
But now, Nina was bringing up these issues again.
“No matter what he arranges, I won’t accept it. Nina, at this moment, I’m certain that I want to be with you and our child.”
This had been his intention all along. It was just that everything had happened sooner than expected.
Nina felt a deep ache in her heart. Of course, she also wanted their family to be together.
But Nash’s subordinates had mentioned that the president of Salterra saw him as his successor. How could the president allow Nash to return to his previous life? “Nash, don’t go against your father. His strictness comes from caring about your life. If you weren’t his son, he wouldn’t bother with you.” Nina spoke calmly.
When Nash wanted to argue, Nina quickly cut him off, “Don’t say anything more. I want you to live, and I don’t want to see you break ties with your father.”
