Chapter 760
Baxter:
A Few Days Ago:
“You and your wife got married when you were eighteen years old. That’s because she got pregnant with your child. At least, at the time, she didn’t know who the father was. You know, she had taken part in a group activity. She got pregnant, and you, being the fool you always were, decided to take responsibility while your other friends hid.”
He spoke bitterly at the memory.
“Elgin and Graham. A couple of other names. I don’t even remember who they were anymore, but she was with all of them. Well, you were lucky the DNA test showed you really were the father.”
He paused, making my heart beat faster.
“But you were in love with her.”
As he said that, a smile crept onto my lips.
“I mean, I don’t know. I am going to judge her. If she was single and had been involved in something where I had been present too, then judging her would mean judging myself as well.”
I paused before continuing.
“If I was okay to be a part of something like that, then how can I judge her?”
I guessed my wolf recognised what I was thinking because he immediately scoffed.
“Look at you. For an alpha, you are such a loser. Standing there, watching your girlfriend get railed by other men, and only joining in because she wouldn’t stop.”
As he said that, I realised what he was implying.
She had cheated on me, and instead of leaving her, I had joined in because I didn’t want to lose her.
“Well, she became my wife and my children’s mother. I cannot judge an eighteen year old for making mistakes,” I argued. “That alone should be reason enough for you not to call her names.”
I hissed at him, realising how upset he became every time I defended her.
“Well, to put it simply, after you accepted her, she gave birth to your children. And I’m not going to tell you how many, for your own sake, because the rest is too painful. Then she fucking ran away with those children after she fell in love with the President of the Human World.”
He spoke with complete confidence, making me frown.
“Why? And how would she do that? I mean, you said I’m an Alpha, so what benefit would she gain from being with a president?” I asked, trying to put the pieces together.
“Well, after everyone found out your wife had been engaging in those activities, they decided to throw her out of the pack and make her go rogue.
“And you you went rogue with her. You gave up the crown for her. You gave up on me. At first, I was okay with it because I thought, Fine. The crown will be lost. But no. Baxter, after you lost me, I was cast into the dark world of rejected wolves. I stayed there for years. I will never tolerate that again.”
He hissed, making my heart skip a beat.
“Wait. Then how do you know she left with Sawyer?”
I paused as my wolf started to chuckle.
“Because, you dumbass, after she gave birth, she left you.”
I frowned, trying to process his words.
“She ran away to the human world, where she met Sawyer. While we were still
bonded to her, she married him.”
I ran a hand through my hair, my thoughts refusing to settle.
“Then, a few years later, she came back because her husband was having an affair with the nanny.”
He spoke as though he were listing ordinary facts.
“And she decided she should come back and check on her stupid, idiotic Alpha mate.”
I slowly shook my head, unable to understand any of it.
“While you were waiting for her, you
took her back, and that’s why they kicked you out too for accepting such a woman back in your life,”
My jaw clenched.
I stared at the floor, trying to picture a life I couldn’t even remember.
“And now that I’m thinking about it, it seems like she ran away from you again.”
He paused for only a moment.
“Or maybe she tried to kill you.”
A chill crawled down my spine.
“I mean, she had it in her. She once tried to kill her stepsister.”
I folded my arms tightly across my chest.
“Anyway, all of that is in the past.”
His voice lost some of its bitterness.
“You should focus on your children.”
My wolf had left me with a lot of questions.
In the end, kè had only confirmed that
Falahad left me and that t
ad
always been the one who loved her
But one question kept circling in my mind.
During all of that back and forth, did I never realise she was this evil?
I started pacing around the basement, my thoughts spiralling.
How could I have been so madly in love with her?
And why would she run away from Sawyer again?
I stopped beside the wall and rubbed my forehead.
There was no way she had done all that.
Or had she?
I was still deep in thought when the door suddenly flew open, and Daniel rushed
inside.
I immediately got to my feet and grabbed him by the shoulders, trying to calm him
down.
“Daniel, breathe.”
I guided him to a chair before handing him a bottle of water.
He was drenched in sweat.
After emptying the bottle, he handed me his phone and opened a video for me.
It seemed to be footage of the
nanny
cheatadeline had caught Sawyer
cheating with, which was why she had run back to the werewolworld Heaving her second husband behind.
