“Take it slow,” Nina advised.
Eve tightened the cap, hesitated for a moment, then looked at Nina and decided to speak up, “Thanks for earlier. If it weren’t for you, I probably would’ve been in trouble.” Nina joked, “I usually see you as pretty tough, but you seemed pretty scared just now.”
Eve pursed her lips and looked down again. “I know I’ve embarrassed you twice. It’s normal for you to make fun of me.”
“Alright, get in the car. I’ll take you home. If you’re late, your grandpa will worry about you.” Saving her was for the sake of Eve’s grandfather.
He only had her, and if she had not helped Eve, he would surely be upset. She could not be indifferent to that extent.
Suddenly, Eve remembered something. “My phone and bag are with Stella. I wonder where she went!”
Hearing this, Nina hesitated and asked, “Weren’t you with Stella just now? How come you’re suddenly alone?”
Eve explained, “Stella had something to do, so we weren’t together, but we planned to have dinner together.”

Nina pursed her lips. Eve had a simple mindset, always being pampered since childhood by those who loved her. She could not even handle those few men today, let alone judge someone’s character. She did not say much more. The police car stopped at the company’s entrance.
“I’m getting off too,” Eve said.
Nina got out first and looked at her. “Why are you getting off? Aren’t you going home?”
Eve looked at Nina. “Grandpa said I could play more with Nash and you. I haven’t been to Nash’s company yet. I’ll borrow your phone to call Grandpa when I’m there.”
Seeing Eve’s rapid change of attitude, Taylor whispered, “Just now, she was so arrogant, and now she’s acting all coy again…”
Nina looked at Taylor. “Don’t talk nonsense.”
Eve did not argue, just lowered her head. “You… you won’t mind, right?”

Before she could finish, Nash grabbed her arm, and Nina moved closer, accidentally falling into his embrace.
His grip was tight as he gazed at her face with his voice filled with concern. “How did you get that injury on your cheek? What happened? I called you, why didn’t you answer?”
