“Mr. York, we haven’t found Nina yet. Today, the wind was strong and the waves were high. It’s highly likely that she might have been swept away. The chances of her being alive are very slim.” Hearing this news, Nash could not bear it anymore. It felt like a knife had been thrust into his heart. He grabbed the person and coldly interrogated, “What did you say? Nina won’t die!”
The person tried to calm his emotions, saying, “Mr. York, I know you’re anxious, but you need to calm down. If we haven’t found Nina yet, there’s still a chance she might have been rescued in time. Let’s think positively and hope for the best.”
“Yes, she might have been rescued.” Nash dared not think of the worst. He had never imagined Nina leaving him in this way. She could not possibly be dead.
“Today, many fishing boats returned to shore, and I heard they rescued several people. We don’t know if Nina was among them,” the person continued, trying to console Nash.
Nash refused to believe that Nina was still in the cold sea. He was convinced that she would be rescued. Wanting to ensure the best possible outcome, he asked, “Were all the people rescued taken to the same hospital?”
“I just asked the fishermen, but they weren’t sure. If it were me, I’d take them to the nearest hospital,” Cynthia replied.
With no time to waste, Nash took action. He sent people to investigate and personally visited hospitals one by one, desperately searching for any sign of Nina. It continued into the night.
“We’ve checked. Some are hospitalized, some have left, and two individuals have no identification, so there’s no record of them. Nina didn’t have anything with her, so we don’t know if she’s one of them,” the report came in.
Nash had called home and found no news of Nina. He had asked everyone except Yvonne because her phone was unreachable. Nash furrowed his brows, lost in thought.
Now, Nina’s life was at stake. He hoped Yvonne’s phone was unreachable because Nina was with her. That would mean Nina was still alive.
“Mr. York, Taylor called. Stella is still unconscious, and her parents are here demanding an explanation from us,” Cynthia informed him, one problem arising after another.
Nash clenched his fists. There was a coldness in his eyes as he mentioned the matter. “Let’s go there first.”
Cynthia hesitated for a moment before continuing, “Mr. York, do you think something’s fishy here? Just when Taylor and I were distracted, Nina and Stella got into trouble. And now, with Nina missing, Stella has become the victim. They’re even claiming that Nina harmed Stella and fled. I don’t believe it at all!”
Now, all the blame was being placed on Nina. Cynthia was the first to resist and felt Nina was being unfairly treated.
Nash remained silent, focusing on driving, but there was a cold gleam in his eyes.
Forget about Nina pushing Stella into the sea. If Nina had been harmed in any way, he would make jasper Corporation pay the price!
At the hospital, Stella remained unconscious in the ICU. Her parents had flown back from abroad in a panic upon hearing the news.
