“I get it,” Nina assured him, never one to assign blame. “Let’s head home. Oh, didn’t you mention wanting to go to Frangelia before? Do you have any free time recently? If not…”
“Yes,” Nash replied, a rare glimmer of joy lighting up his handsome face as he grasped her hand. “There’s nothing pressing for me to attend to personally at the moment. Let’s take a trip to Frangelia to unwind. We’ve been married for so long and haven’t gone out together yet. This is our chance.”
“Okay,” Nina replied. “I’m hungry, are you? I had someone buy groceries and deliver them home. We can go back now, and I’ll cook you a hot meal.”
Nash was afraid she would tire herself out. “You’re too tired today. Let the helpers handle it.”
“I want to cook for you,” Nina insisted, looking stubbornly at him. “I also bought wine. Let’s have a good meal tonight, no arguments, no business talk, okay?”
Nash gazed deeply into her eyes, silent for a long time. But with Nina’s hopeful and approving look, he could not refuse. “Okay.”
Back home, the helpers had not rested yet and were planning to make supper for them. Nina asked both the helpers and the security guards to rest, and she personally went to the kitchen to cook.
