“You bastard!” Sally’s eyes were red with anger, and she gritted her teeth. “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have married into the York family. Seth, you owe me for the rest of your life!” Seth Duncan remembered this favor. “I haven’t forgotten.”
He paused before continuing, “However, when I get out, it will benefit both you and your daughter.”
Sally’s expression remained cold. “When you get out, just live your life and stay away from me and Miranda. Don’t interfere with her career. That’s the biggest favor you can do!”
She no longer expected anything from him. She only hoped he would not cause further trouble.
Miranda had worked hard to get to where she was, and Sally would not let him ruin that.
She could imagine that giving Miranda to him had not led to a good life.

Seth said nothing, giving Sally a meaningful look.
Sally had come to warn him and had nothing more to say.

Nina had gotten up early as she needed to go to the hospital for a check-up.

She no longer wore high heels, opting for loose clothing, sweaters, long skirts, and flat shoes. She also went without makeup. Yvonne drove her to the hospital.
When Nina arrived, it was just starting office hours, but there were already many people in line.
Being a weekend, the obstetrics and gynecology department was particularly busy.
Nina waited in line. Her number was towards the end, and it would likely be around 11 AM before it was her turn.
Those who knew their appointments were in the afternoon had already left.
While waiting, Nina saw pregnant women with large bellies coming out of the examination rooms.
Despite their obvious discomfort, they had happy smiles on their faces.
She touched her own belly and could not help but smile, thinking that in a few months, her baby would be born and start to grow up. Around 11 AM, the nurse called, “Miss Walker, it’s your turn.”
Yvonne said to Nina, “You go ahead, I’ll wait outside.”
Nina nodded and followed the nurse’s instructions to the innermost room.
Inside, it was quiet. The doctor, wearing a cap and mask, pointed to a seat. “Nina, right? Please have a seat.”
Nina sat down and asked, “When can I get the ultrasound?”
“In a little while,” the doctor replied, looking up at her. “From your medical history, it looks like you’ve had signs of a miscarriage before?” “A little,” Nina admitted.
“Lie down, and I’ll take a blood sample for a detailed check,” the doctor said.
Nina followed the doctor’s instructions and lay down on the bed.
After a while, the doctor came over and felt her abdomen.
Nina watched the doctor’s hands, noticing her frown. Nina asked, “What’s wrong?”
The doctor released her hand. “Nothing. I’ll take your blood now.”
The doctor picked up a syringe and was about to draw Nina’s blood.
Nina stared intently at her hands. Just as the needle was about to pierce her skin, she grabbed the doctor’s hand and said, “You’re not a real doctor!”
