When Nina came out of the restroom, she saw the shop owner standing nervously by the door. Sweat was dripping from his forehead as if he had seen something terrifying. With that, Nina was practically pushed out of the store. She turned back to see the owner shut the door tightly, clearly closing up shop.

As she walked out, another young man approached her, “Do you need help? That bag looks heavy for a girl like you. Let me help. Where’s your car? I’ll carry it for you.”
Before she could respond, the man had already picked up her bag.
“No need,” Nina declined politely. “I came by bicycle, it’s just up ahead.”
“But it looks like a lot to carry on a bicycle. How about I drive you home?” he offered.
Since when were people this helpful? Suspicious, Nina studied the young man, who seemed too eager to help.
Frowning, she watched as he effortlessly lifted her bicycle onto his shoulder.
“I have a pickup truck. I can easily load your bicycle and give you a ride home,” he offered.
“Who sent you?” she asked, eyeing him suspiciously.
The young man stiffened, “What? I don’t understand.”
Nina continued, “All day, people have been following me, clearing my path, helping with my things, even stopping me from selling my ring. Who sent you?”
From the start, Nina had sensed something was off. There were too many coincidences.
The young man forced a smile and explained, “I was just passing by and saw you struggling. I really just wanted to help.”
“I don’t believe your good intentions for a second. Who sent you?” Nina demanded, her voice firm.
The young man started to stammer, clearly flustered by her directness.
