The helpers, fearing the situation, hesitated but did their best to push Sally out.
Nina was no longer polite and said, “Whenever Miranda is in trouble, you jump to her defense. You just want me to know she’s your daughter and you want to protect her. But remember, you abandoned her once. Now you want to make it up to her? You should consider whether she even wants your help!”
Sally was taken aback, thinking this was still a secret. But realizing Nina already knew, she did not bother hiding it. “Yes, Miranda is my daughter. I’ve sacrificed so much for the York family. How dare you slander her!”
“I don’t slander,” Nina replied firmly. “If you want to seek justice for her, take it up with the police, not me. Today, her reputation is ruined. Tomorrow, I’ll make sure she’s in jail for life!”
Turning to the helpers, she added sternly, “Show her out!”
Recognizing Nina’s authority, the helpers hurriedly escorted Sally out. Sally, deeply shocked and humiliated, couldn’t tolerate the insult any longer.
“Nina, you’re a curse. It’s either you or me today!” Sally grabbed the two buckets she had brought and opened them, aiming their contents at Nina. Nina smelled the strong odor and turned pale. She couldn’t move quickly due to her pregnancy, but a helper jumped in front of her to shield her. “Quick, get her out! It’s gasoline!” the helper shouted, calling for more help.
Seeing she hadn’t drenched Nina, Sally tried to move closer. Nina, now wary, kept her distance, clutching her belly protectively.
At that moment, security had arrived to restrain Sally. Realizing she was out of time and acting irrationally, she grabbed a lighter and ignited the gasoline. The flames spread rapidly.
Pinned down and unable to move, Sally watched the house catch fire. She felt a twisted sense of relief, as if the years of suppressed pain within the York family were being released. She laughed maniacally, “Hahahaha! I’ll burn you and your child alive! Let’s see how you plan to marry Nash now!”
Nina was horrified by the sheer malice in Sally’s eyes, realizing she was willing to harm even her unborn child.
“Fire! Put out the fire!” someone shouted.
The flames spread quickly, but the villa’s advanced fire safety measures kicked in. Fire extinguishers were deployed, and overhead sprinklers activated. The fire was out within a minute, but Nina was left shaken.
Sally, restrained but still raging, screamed at Nina, “I’ll burn you to death! If you try to ruin Miranda, I’ll ruin you!”
Nina, both angry and scared, knew she had to protect herself and her child. She wouldn’t show any mercy.
“Take her to the police. Punish her to the full extent of the law!” Nina ordered.
Sally continued to struggle and shout, “I’m Nash’s mother! Burning down a house is my right! You can’t do anything to me!”
She was convinced her status would shield her from any consequences.
“Captain York!”
Nash arrived, his expression cold with fury, his fists clenched as he glared at Sally.
Seeing him, Sally thought she had found her savior. “Nash, you’re here! Look at this woman trying to send me to the police! See how cruel she is, wanting to arrest your own mother!”
