Nina pressed her lips together, her expression serious. “Mrs. Quintana, please take me to see the injured.”
“You!” Mrs. Quintana was furious.
But what could she do? She had to comply with Nina’s request.
As soon as Nina approached the entrance of the injured camp, the overwhelming stench of blood and rot hit her. She couldn’t hold back and retched.

Nina’s breathing became rapid, and she felt like she couldn’t get enough air. As she started to collapse, someone caught her. “Careful,” a hoarse female voice said.
Nina looked up instinctively and saw Scarlett!
But Scarlett’s eyes were blank, showing no recognition. Nina immediately grabbed her hand. “I’m taking her with me.”
Since Nina was allowed to search for people here, taking someone out should be easy, right?
Mrs. Quintana quickly waved her off. “Hurry up and take her away. The sooner, the better.”
Nina had barely left with Scarlett when Wes, Ivy’s bodyguard, showed up.
After a quick inspection of the injured camp and not finding Scarlett, he demanded of Mrs. Quintana, “Where’s the slave I threw in here?”
“Which one?” Mrs. Quintana couldn’t remember who had been thrown in.
wes kicked her. “If you’re so incompetent, why are you in charge? If you can’t handle it, let someone else do it.”
“That… that woman with Mr. Micah took a slave. It was probably yours…” Mrs. Quintana’s words fell on deaf ears as Wes dismissed her explanation.
Following up, he quickly learned that Nina, along with Mr. Joker and another man, had been searching the slave camp.
With Scarlett already taken away, Wes wondered who they would look for next.
Wes continued to monitor the situation closely, and Shadow reported everything back to Pharaoh.
In the male slave camp, Nash found Scott. Both Nash and Nina felt that things were going too smoothly, almost unnaturally so. As Nash led Scott to reunite with Nina, he sent a SOS signal, pressing the button five times instead of the usual three.
They thought they would be taken back to the small room, but instead, Mr. Joker led them to Micah.
Nina clenched her fists, ready to confront Micah, but he came to her first.
Micah gave Mr. Joker a look, signaling him to show Nash out. Already injured from their previous encounter, Mr. Joker was quickly overpowered by Nash and fell to the ground.
Micah’s eyes darkened at the sight.
