Nina chuckled. “Look at our situation. After everything we’ve been through, my perspective has changed.”
She had always been cautious, working as Nash’s secretary, strictly adhering to his instructions, and hiding their relationship from everyone. Now, with all they had endured, the thought of taking photos seemed trivial.
Nash smiled and sat down beside her, pulling her into his embrace. “Nina, I know I’ve let you down in so many ways. I’m working hard to take care of everything so I can be the Nash you deserve.”
“Mm, I know,” Nina murmured, leaning into his chest as they watched the sunset together.
Gently stroking her hair, Nash said, “Nina, Micah and the Pharaoh are here. The Yaren tribe has undergone significant changes. The slave camps have been dismantled, and Micah is now in charge. The Pharaoh has stepped down, and as for the one posing as Ivy…”
“Was it Miranda?” Nina interrupted with a soft laugh before Nash could finish speaking.
Nash’s eyes widened in surprise. He had not expected Nina to know. He chuckled, “When did you figure it out?”
Nina thought for a moment. “I started piecing things together. Ivy was brought back by Seth, and Miranda was his daughter…”
“Miranda wasn’t Seth’s daughter. She was Sally’s. Seth and Sally had a connection, that’s all.”
Nina had not known this detail. She had assumed Miranda was the daughter of both Seth and Sally. But hearing Nash’s clarification, it became clear that Miranda was solely Sally’s child.
Then Nash added, “Miranda is dead.”
She could not believe it. “When did this happen?”
“Right when Seth led the rebellion and you and Wilfred escaped…” Nash explained Miranda’s death in detail.
Nina was silent for a moment, then said, “I thought you would have spared her.”
Even if Nash did not spare Miranda, at least Seth could have. But it turned out that Seth did not save her either. Looking back, Miranda had impacted her life so much. It truly confirmed the saying, “Hurt people hurt people.”

Soon, Nina followed Nash to the tent where Micah and the Pharaoh were waiting. Micah looked the same as before, but the Pharaoh was different.
He was not wearing his mask. Though a long scar marked his face, his eyes were softer than Nina remembered. He looked unusually gentle.
