Micah’s voice boomed with authority, “I’m the leader now. If I decide someone stays, they stay. If you have a problem with that, you’re free to leave.”
There were many in the tribe. Even if some left, there were always others to train. In any case, Micah would not allow anyone to speak ill of Nina. Her status in the tribe was untouchable.
Pharaoh then walked up to the stage with Orion in tow. “Nina is my daughter, Ivy. You all accepted the impostor Seth brought back before, yet you refuse to accept my real daughter now? How does that make any sense?
“As Micah said, we decide who stays and who goes. If you’re not leaving, then stop buzzing around. Orion is my grandson, Nina is my daughter, and Nash is my son-in-law.
“If anyone dares to harm them within the tribe, and I find out who, I’ll personally see to it that they’re cut to pieces!”
Pharaoh’s words were cold and firm, his expression filled with authority.
He was taking a clear stand, openly acknowledging Nina and her family, especially Nash.
When he had previously spoken to Nash, it was because he was concerned about Nash’s current status and feared that if they were separated, Nina would be hurt. But he had not anticipated Nina’s unwavering determination to stay with Nash. Nash had stayed by Nina’s side throughout, and now Nina stepped forward as well, addressing the crowd.
“You don’t need to worry about the tribe falling into my hands or my husband’s,” Nina stated calmly. “I promise you all here that my child will not be the future leader of the Yaren Tribe. I appreciate you coming to celebrate my child’s birthday, and I understand my father’s intention. Nina then made a decision, “We’ll return to Birkham tomorrow.”
Pharaoh had known Nina would leave, but he had not expected her to decide so quickly. Before he could say anything, Micah interjected, “The issues with Salterra haven’t been resolved yet. If you leave now, I’m afraid you’ll be in danger.”
Nina smiled and shook her head. “Nash and I have already considered that. Brother, you seem to forget the strategy of ‘drawing out the enemy.”
The better they were protected, the less chance Dominic and his people would have to strike.
