Micah picked up Orion and walked away with him.
Meanwhile, Nina and Nash’s flight ran into trouble, forcing them to land and leaving them stranded at the airport. Everything was unfolding exactly as they had anticipated. Dominic had made his move.
He arranged his men to capturer Nina and Nash. Everything was going according to their plan. After being forced off the plane and rerouted to Salterra, they finally came face-to-face with Dominic. Dominic tried to separate them, but Nash held Nina’s hand tightly, refusing to let go. In the end, they were both brought before Dominic together.
“You claim to care about him so much, yet you’re willing to ignore the poison still in his body?” Dominic said, his hands clasped behind his back, addressing Nina with cold disdain.
He clearly did not like her and made no effort to hide it.
A faint trace of sarcasm played on Nina’s lips. “You were the one who sought him out in the first place. Instead of making amends, you poisoned him. Only someone like you could stoop that low!”
For some time, Nash had appeared stable, even spending a lot of time in the lab. Pharaoh had even accepted him, leading Nina to believe that Nash had been cured.
But in reality, Nash had been holding on, hiding the truth from Nina all along.
“If it weren’t for you, I never would’ve poisoned him in the first place. Don’t act like you’re any better,” Dominic retorted with equal venom.
He remembered the efforts he had made to find Nash, only to discover him entrenched in the world of business. Business and politics were entirely different realms, and Dominic had no interest in Nash at first.
But upon learning of Nash’s other identity, he sought to pull him into his fold. Nash’s resistance persisted until Nina was poisoned and had their child. Dominic thought this would sway Nash, but instead, Nash remained steadfast, staying with the military.
Years later, after Nash was shot in the chaos of war and fell into the Yaren River, Dominic had gone to great lengths to retrieve him. He had nearly given up on Nash when he finally woke up, only to see him reunite with Nina. From Dominic’s perspective, Nina had been nothing but a troublemaker.
“I may not be perfect, but I’ve never tried to harm my own son. Unlike you, who, as the president of a nation, is so ruthless to his own child and grandchild,” Nina fired back without hesitation.
Dominic glanced at Nash, noting that despite her sharp words, Nash remained indifferent, his loyalties clearly aligned with Nina.
Realizing this, Dominic’s frustration grew. His other two sons were nowhere near Nash’s caliber. If he could not secure Nash’s loyalty, his legacy would be left in shambles.
Just then, one of Dominic’s bodyguards rushed over, whispering urgently in his ear. Dominic’s expression darkened considerably.
“You dare to deceive me?” he snarled, his ugly side fully revealed.
